London 2012 Olympics
The design of £496m Olympic Stadium unveiled, The 80,000-seater stadium will begin ahead of schedule in April 2008. Looks very costly project however design is pretty nice.

Nice!! That will definitely be worth and visit when its done. I would love to get some tickets to the Olympics. I had some for the Commonwealth Games in 2002 at the City Of Manchester Stadium which in itself is quite impressive but I think tickets for the Olympics will be harder to get .
However I'm sure a tour of the stadium wouldn't be out of the question!

There are plenty of chances to get the ticket since ticket are expected to available some where around 2011 and "There will 9.6 million tickets available. More than 6 million will be £30 or less and of those 4 million will cost £20 or under (at 2004 prices)":

I hope the moderator will keep this thread sticky till the olympics game. I will keep you updated about the availability of tickets. I hope eukhost may book the tickets for all their customers and staff since I assume it would be world's number one hosting company by that time.

Yes I agree. This will be a very good thread and one of which I am sure there will be a lot of interest in. The prices of the tickets is encouraging and I'm sure out of 9.6 million tickets I should be able to get a couple hopefully!

haha.
not sure if tickets will be dirt cheap as you think - especially for the olympics - although I think we'll leave Mark to decide that . BUT if Mark *did* pay for all the customers eukhost will surely be in the media. Hey Mark, you've got till 2012 to decide - and probably by then you'll not have enough seats for all the clients you'll have then

The Olympics will easily bring 496 million back into the UK what with hotels, marketing, sales and whatever.

If not more! I just hope that things like the transportation system and terror threats do not get the London Olympics in the media for all the wrong reasons .

THere will be talk of Terror threats, but there will also be preperation for it too. Its easier to do sommet when not expected.

But it would be a disaster for a successful attack to take place and I believe there will be a lot of very real risk while the Olympics are here. I'm sure we can get through it though - I have faith in our emergency services .

An absolute disaster. But "the terrorists" know that its extremely hard to do things like that at major evets else they would have destroyed teh super bowl or FA Cup Final already. Its better to do it when things are busy and peoples guards are down like they have been.
Great lookin stadium btw.

Nothing will stop a determined terrorist - well trained suicide bombers are impossible to stop as normally the Police can guarentee to stop a criminal by putting them in the face of danger (such as armed officers etc) as they want to live. When you meet someone with a complete disregard for human life, his own included, it becomes nigh on impossible to stop them .
