Default Look at these PC builds for me: Performance increase?

My current system:-

Intel C2D E6300 slightly overclocked to 2.1Ghz
ASRock 775i65GV motherboard
1Gb V-Data DDR400 PC3200
LeadTek A400TDH 6800 AGP graphics card 128Mb

I'm expecting delivery of this lot tomorrow:-

ASUS P5K motherboard
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Coolermaster Real Power 520w Modular Power Supply

Bought the above from OcUK at a fantastic price.

I know the E6300 is a great clocking CPU but the basic ASRock mobo along with my RAM has been limiting me from getting it to anywhere near 3.0Ghz on air, which it will do easily when the ASUS arrives.

I've also got an ATI X1900XT PCI-E sat here ready to drop into the new build tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to doing ( I'm gonna be like a kid in a sweet shop!!! ).

So......for those that know about this stuff.....am I going to see a considerable increase in performance switching over to this from my old setup?.

I'm also going to take the plunge and install Vista rather than XP which I've been running for years. The wife's PC has been running Vista for a few months now and I think i like it so far, so thought what the hell and decided to install it on this new build.

What do you reckon then?.

Am I going to be impressed with the increase in performance with this new rig?.

I think you should go with Vista, its half as good as XP, however I am not sure it will increase in performance as it somewhat depends on admin's hand rather than software.

I would say you should see a performance increase. How significant depends on how well its setup .
