Microsoft Puts in Bid for Yahoo!
Microsoft has finally put in a bid to buy Yahoo! for a price of $44.6bn; is it me or is the web now becoming a competition of Google v Microsoft?

Yeah it sure does seem that way. But what we will see is less competition = lesser quality IMO. I have always hated using M$ seares and also Yahoo so thats not too big a deal. Google is evil IMO also, no better than M$. I have used Ask for many years.

I don't think this will go through. Such news articles have been published many times in last 12 months but they don't seem to have that much money to pay

The previous articles were only regarding rumours and talks; this is the first time that Microsoft have actually put in a solid bid for Yahoo!. At the end of the day, it is all just a stunt to get ahead of Google again.

I personally think that MS should leave Yahoo! alone. Yahoo! has a huge identity online, and it can well loose it in MS' hands. This deal is only good for the shareholders and Yahoo! (particularly at this time) and nothing else. MS + Yahoo! is still no match for Google. It would be interesting to see Google's counter moves on this though!

Microsoft have only done it because they have seen Yahoo! is a sinking ship. and this is evident within Yahoo!'s share prices.

Microsoft has always looked to take over Yahoo! and we have been hearing this for long now. However even if Microsoft would take over Y! they will never be able to get ahead of Google.
If you ask me to vote between them I would surely vote for Google as it has gained more success in compare to Microsoft. We have always seen actions from Microsoft to compete Google but not much from Google as there is no competition to Google.
Google only needs to develope an OS to go way ahead of Microsoft. And I am sure that they are looking forward to it.

And on the note of MS & Yahoo! potentially joining together, if this does go through it would be a disaster for Google and then the Internet fight would definitely be MS v Google. But then I think there would be a stalemate as neither has suffcient means (money or otherwise) to force a sale.
