I've noticied a few spam posts on the forum this morning and I was wondering if you use the "No Spam!" hack at all? It greatly reduces the amount of spam posts and I highly recommend it and only takes two minutes to install

If there is any spam it always gets cleaned up soon enough, and then the members who spam post are given permenant bans. I've just cleared up all of this mornings spam and have banned the members.

No need to, because there is never really any spam.

i dont think any hosting company or isp will ever be able to stop spam .. maybe prevent it alittle not but stop it.

This script could be helpful but there is never normally more than 1 or 2 posts every now and then so it is easy for the moderators to keep on top of.

However this could be a solution should the problem get any worse. Manual checks will always be needed though, by the moderators, as no script of hack is perfect .

Genuine spam posts that we get are related to various Mobile phones only. All other spam posts are those which are manually posted by people so there's no way to stop those using any sort of scripts.

That is true - fortunately the board doesnt seem to suffer all that much from spam at all (touch wood!).

You always get the odd annoying person who will register purly for self promotion but the posts are usually that obvious that they are either flagged by a member or removed immidiately by a moderator.
