Default Oldest E-mail Message

I have been sorting out my email recently and it is amazing to see the things I have still got with mail limits being as high as they are these days I for one just end up not deleting anything.

So just wondering what is the oldest email that everyone has in their accounts? Mine is from 24/01/2005 which was the welcome email for my account!!

My outlook takes care of deleting messages from server which are 5 days old. This leaves only 5 days of emails on the server.

Even cpanel has started offering such feature in email account management so you can choose that if you want.

So looks like Rock is leading the oldest email contenst at the moment and I am in 2nd place.

With 2GB storage now I just don't bother to delete the emails - I might want them for future reference .

I use Yahoo! as my e-mail provider (because I am with BT) and they have recently provided unlimited storage, so I don't really need to delete my e-mails, but I haven't had this Yahoo! e-mail address that long...the oldest e-mail I have is on Tuesday, 10th July 2007. When I was with AOL, I use to not delete my e-mails at all, but I am more organized with my e-mails now lol!

Well I just can't believe myself, I have used Hotmail and Yahoo since long now and the oldest emails are:

Hotmail Account : Sunday, August 22, 2004 12:46:17 AM
A forward email from my Gal friend.

Yahoo Account : Monday, 2 July, 2001 9:41:23 PM
A forward email from a friend with an attachment of my religion head.

I also use gmail but it cannot be as old a above since I recently started using it.

Thanks "DPS Computing" for starting this thread or else would have never known that I have such an old emails.

Yes, since I have started not deleting my emails I now have rules that seperate emails from different senders into appropriate folders so that nothing stays in the inbox after it is read and gets archived in the relevant place - I am very happy with it!

No problem Martin - I thought it would be a nice interesting thread to start. And it looks like you've taken first place by quite a distance Martin for the oldest email so congratulations!! Wow, an e-mail over 6 years old - now that is a good length of time to keep it!!

lol, I'll recind the previous reply then

I think Martin will probably be the winner in the end anyway - I can't imagine someone having an email older than 6 years old!!?! (although I am willing to be surprised!)

Should we get him a cake or something!

Hah! In some respects this 'contest' has arrived a week too late — I've just moved house last weekend and cannot find 70% of my stuff including my oldest notebook PC, but I will find it and hopefully some really early stuff ...

Sorry to disappoint you guys but I joined CompuServe on 6th August 1992 and despite not being able to find any messages quite that old in my accessible archives, you should know that in Outlook I always have open archive folders dating back to Jan 2000 (searchable at any given moment) and the oldest PST I have on this system presently contains an email I sent on 14th December 1995 01:59:11 in reply to one from a friend that was received 11th December 1995 18:21, using my MSN address which iirc I began using earlier that year (MSN domain first registered 10-Nov-94) and I joined as a beta tester.

There's bound to be someone who can beat this ...

Hello All,

My reply to this post would be a bit off-topic, but what Rock said is out of the rules for the Toshiba Laptop Contest as he
