Poor?!!? She's one of the richest women in the world
Can't say I have any sympathy for her, in fact this may be a very good wake up call for her. She was driving while banned, and caught twice, while driving at night with out headlights. Her mothers reasoning that "shes brings light to your boring lives" just shows the egotistical mentality of her and her family. They're rich, therefore special, and above the law. Had she not done time she would just have done it again, and its not as if she hadn't been warned. At least now she might have a bit more respect for others.

Not to mention the petition trying to get her not sentence 'because she is famous'. If you do the crime you pay the time, and that should be regardless of however 'famous' you are. She managed to get her sentence halved and is in solitary for her own protection, so hasn't done quite as badly as she might have.

Yep and I also heard she is getting special treatment in Jail, it is the passion, personal influence and glamour of stardom that really mattered, I remember when Keith arrested for most serious crime for heroin possession in Canada and after judgement he was "sentenced" to play a free concert instead of rigorous punishment. This is the long way toward ending favoritism to our politician and celebrities.

They should be sentenced to prison fairly as anyone else would be. And all celebs arrested should go in mainstream prison. Paris was lucky, but I doubt it this time.

Even though she is getting special treatment in Jail, the 45-day trip to jail could turn into a reality check for her.

I agree - I'm sure the jail she is in is nothing compared to her dads hotels - no champagne on ice, no drivers, no beauty treatments, no carte blanche dinner menu - trust me 45 days in jail for her will be like a life sentence for us normal people .

Do you think she could get her money back on them? They don't seem to work very well

Not like a dad hotel but she is already getting special treatment there, as per news in TMZ.com she has been allowed to shower, beauty treatment and hair dresser and even she can use a phone and watch TV in a small pod adjacent to her cell.

That doesn't seem to be fair. I would say lock her up in a mainstream prison, no phones, no TV, no "beauty" treatments.

So is it more of a holiday then rather than a punishment?

It is religious trip too, she has carried a bible, a self-help book and a panic button...

Breaking News...
Paris Hilton is freed from prison to serve the rest of her 45 day sentence with an electronic tag at home. Oh well it seems that in the US if you are a celebrity and you have a good lawyer you can escape prison, as such.

She has been released from the Jail because of an unspecified medical problem and will fulfill the reminder of her sentence in home confinement...
Got to love special treatment for the rich celebrities!

How we can trust in the integrity of our judicial system that suggest everyone is equal?

"The undisclosed medical condition was withdrawal from fine wine and great food with good looking men as well as little creature comforts like a few million dollar residence and on call staff for anything she desires"
Maybe life "on the inside" was a bit too tough for her - she should have thought about this before doing the crime! "Do the crime - do the time!"
