Default VScan, Adaware / Spyware etc

I have a PC when its on for about a minute it locks up and wont do anything. Does this in safemode too. So i cant run anything I mentioned in the Title. I cant restore the thing to a previous date as it wont let me either.

Are there any of the above tools that will run directrly from a CD ? Preferably free, I dont wanna spend $60 on utilties when he can get an OS for $100 (he lost his) and the rest for free.

Well I remembered when I had a similar problem with my Windows computer. Try calling your computer manufacturar as I am sure they are able to fix it for you. If your with Dell I do recommend calling them up because I was on the phone for hours and without hesitation they fixed it the following morning.

Have you not got a restore disk that came with your computer originally?

Either your CPU Fan has stopped working or the RAM sticks are out of order. There should not be any other problem with your Computer.

If the SMPS Fan stops working then the computer will work for 10 minutes and if CPU Fan has gone bad then it wont work for more than a minute or two.

There might be another possibilities as listed below that can can cause a PC to freeze;

* There may be Resource leaks
* Software conflicts or IRQ conflicts
* Computer viruses
* Bad RAM memory
* Windows 95/98 instability ( Currently there is No support from Microsoft for this version )
* Errors in Hard drive
* The mouse driver might be incorrect or corrupt
* Loose connection of mouse and keyboard
* RAM memory Running out
* Not using genuine MS software

Check what cause lock up your PC and correct it accordingly.

I suggest you remove the HDD and install it as a slave in another PC, then check/disinfect it with every tool at your disposal ...

You are right I too have same experience, however that might be just one possibility through guessing especially for those people who might be using not genuine software or ignorant about it.

I know what you mean - I can only feel for the people using non genuine software. If I am using genuine software and having all these problems their computers must be unusable!
