I agree, good support should be the top prority in hosting. Uptime is important too, uptime ensures that the customers are happy and satisfied with the service.

IMO, Uptime is the most important aspect in the hosting service concerned as it is there most possible issues get resolved and it assures customer satisfaction. Another most important aspect is support. It should include tech support, phone and chat support that should be 24/7, reliable and quality support. I think it surely achieve customer delight.

It's the whole package but support is key. Obviously value for money is important, and so is the web space available particularly if I want to have large photo galleries of sound files on the website hosting.

Uptime is fairly important but I can tolerate the odd glitch as long as it's picked up and rectified quickly. For the website hostings that I run I can't afford a full hot standby service.

every one of those is key to a successful host... you need the features to be backed up by the support, which can run smoothly due to plenty of webspace and bandwidth, which is stable due to the uptime.

theres no one point to this.
A year or so ago, EUKHOST would go down every now and then, despite the 99.9% uptime promise - however (i hope i dont speak too soon) i havent noticed any downtime with my website hosting for a long time! also, the support of eukhost has gone right up, with online support via live chat 24 hours a day.

and it goes without saying they have the webspace and bandwidth covered well.

I'll definately go for support as it's the key to a hosting business. Good support ensures customer satisfaction. If a customer is satisfied and happy with the service he may spread the word-of-mouth in your favour.
