Z-z-z-z-z-zend, DW... maybe a regex tool (forget the name). I prefer gfx-less website hostings so no need for photo*.

I want to start using ASP. I never really looked into it, trying not to go off topic here but how does it compare to PHP?

Also I use DW and FrontPage.

I would stick to php cos it is open source and GPL. It also has a larger support network. MSDN don’t count because the charge a lot of money. I was looking into asp too for a while but then I found the php.

I personally use Adobe GoLive for my website hostings mainly because I am an amateur photographer and thus used Photoshop a lot.

ATB, M

P.S. IMHO I would stop using FrontPage it is full of holes and not very good.

For the web website hostings I maintain I use a RiscPC with RO4.04 (shortly to be updated to 4.39) with SiteMatch and SiteMaster. One website hosting uses ASP, ADO and XML, the others mainly plain vanilla html, javascript and perl.

I did try GoLive when I was working on Windoze PCs and hated it. I've created quite a few photo galleries using my photos and others. If I'm lazy I use WebThumbs or Pic-Index, otherwise I just code the index pages myself and load the main images in new windows on their own.

For image processing I normally use David Pilling's scanning software (DPlngScan) and PhotoDesk (RO equivalent of PhotoShop) if necessary. I also use !Paint and !Draw quite a lot.

For creating thumbnails or resizing images en masse I use FSI_Batch. Intergif is good for making animated GIFs.

I couldn't agree with you more!

Also it does non-standard things which work with IE (surprise, surprise) but not with most other browsers. It's better than it used to be though.

The one thing I would never ever do if I could possibly avoid it is save to html out of Word or Excel. If I had to do that I'd run the resulting file through the MS html filter to remove all the unnecessary crud.
