What work package do you get?
Hello All,
I have observed some big differences in the kind of package my friends/family receive.
In almost all cases, there is only one pay increase a year. This differs from company to company, but most tend to keep it in line with their tax year. The amounts vary, some people say they only get the official rate of inflation, some get slightly above and some get quite a bit above.
Then, we get onto bonus payments. Where my mother works, they got a box of chocolates last Christmas. The previous year, a gift voucher. Some other companies give a cash bonus, but they now seem to be in a minority.
So, discuss.
Do you consider yourself to have a good work package? If so, what makes it good?
Do you consider yourself to have a bad package? If so, why?
What incentive system would you like to see?
You may also share any unusual bonus stories you or your friends/family have experienced.

Sadly, bonuses for staff seem to be becoming non-existant. Unless of course your a banking executive and you get millions in bonuses multiple times a year, cause global financial melt down and then get bailed out to the tune of £5 trillion world wide of tax payers money to fund all these lavish bonuses, not to mention the tens of thousands of pounds of holidays, nights out etc etc.
At work my bonuses arn't too bad, and the wage rises come once a year - although I do think with the way the cost of living is going up my effective wage is decreasing.
It would be great to see more performance based incentive systems being employed by businesses rather than flat, low, base rate bonuses.

With excellence, I have to say my work package is amazing, well I hope it is anyway
We have an "on-call" rota which means aside from our work, of a night we are on call. It's £40 per call and £100 per technical fix, I received a good £800 one week just from oncall bonuses.
That is ontop of my actual wages as well - at xmas we all get an excellent meal placed on for us as well, better than a box of choccies

Glad to see you happy with the package you earn.
Luckily most of our forum members are happy with what they earn. Situation is completely opposite if you check outside.
Funny thing in my case is the smile that I have on my face for the time I stay logged in on this forum. There's something new every day to laugh at and something new to learn which helps me with my Marketing job. Creativity and job satisfaction is more important for me than the pay package.

I am satisfied what I get because the skills, knowledge and technical competence what I get working with a team is an additional bonus for me.
