my concern with the theory of wireless electricity (its something I've thought about since childhood ... not long after the moon landings lol) is its affects on humans - and more so I think, the brain. The proposals here suggest that the technology is based on magnetism (an advanced version of a record-player cartridge if I've read the descriptions right?) solely and should have no adverse human affect - if this is the case the this is possibly the most exciting thing in technology since... swivel-eyed action man? Ok, since the internet. I dunno how long it'll be before they can power laptops and the like - but we might see some pretty garden LED lights with it before long, or similarly low consumption devices.

I think the transmition of energy through electromagnetic induction could be possible without physical connection between the source and the appliance especially within a close distance.

I've been waiting for this for years and years, we have wireless internet etc. The physics for this have always been 'there', so how come no-ones ever done this before?

Because wireless energy can be used as a weapon. Weoponry and wars are the way most technology gets developed!
