Did your team install DomainKeys in any of their experimentations?
Nope. That never worked for us and we tried including domainkeys as most of the people on other forums have said similar thing about domainkeys. It shows similar headers for whilelisted emails and same for spam tagged so those who see their messages getting spam tagged seem to focus on domainkeys which has nothing to do with recent changes on Yahoo Mail.

Greetings all,

=>If you accidentally or deliberately, add same user in CC/BCC headers, yahoo and hotmail will reject the mail or board it onto a train to nowhere.

=>If your BCC or CC addresses are more than 30 (average), the mail will get rejected. Send in packs of 5 or 10 ideally

=> If you don't send a subject in the mail, the mail may get rejected.

=>If your mail servers reverse DNS does not match with the header, the mail will get rejected.

=> There is an X-Precedence-Bulk (or something similar) tag in yahoo's headers, you may try to play around and add it to your mails. I assume if such a tag is there in the headers, yahoo handles that mail as bulk process, just like it sends/receives from yahoo groups.

=>And finally If you don't pray when your mail is being sent, it will get rejected.
=> well I made the last one up.

ooooooooooh, I've just received a couple of the newsletters I sent to my yahoo address!!! I don't know if its something done on the server end or whether adding the newsletter's sending email address to my yahoo contact-book (which seems way too easy lol) but something got them through. I must play some more now and see if I can break it again...

Congratulations esnail! With free services, adding an email address on your safe list, white list, or contacts tends to help with mail getting through from those addresses - especially if they are normally placed in a spam box or even disregarded and not delivered all together.

One thing is for sure and that is that it won't do any harm to add addresses you want mail from to your safe / white / contact lists. Also, don't forget if it is a newsletter to urge people when signing up to it to add your newsletter address or even emails from your domain to their safe / white / contact lists .

thanks. thank god people have now gradually started to understand me and know my worth!

you have to do this research when there are a bunch of customers running after you just becuase their emails don't rach a third party. specially yahoo and hotmail, where there apparently is no synchronization between core techs sitting on servers/routers and tech support (blondes ) answering user queries not knowing what their geek couleagues are doing.

secondly, it is a necesary evil for me because i have a primary hotmail id since 1997. So all old friends, associates, customers, enemies and spammers use that id.

Default smtp mail

on other hosting setups i use a php class to send authenticated smtp email but it does not work on eukhost (firefly) -the script cannot open a socket to the mailserver
error message: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to mail.XXXXX.com:25 (Connection timed out)

however i can use the basic php mail() function to send email.
i would rather send user authenticated mail with the smtp class -has anyone any idea why i cannot open a socket to the mailserver via script?

on edit: i just spotted another user on firefly who was having trouble with fsockopen on the firefly server
PHP change?
this was fixed by Chief Marketing Officer who edited wrong entry in /etc/resolv.conf
but I do not have access to this file -

Hello Sim,

I dont see anything wrong with resolver settings on firefly as of now. please make it convenient to open a ticket for our support team so that they can look into this problem and get back to you once it is sorted.
