Ah yes, well thats the plan.. The thing is ideally I would be on the more secure server (especially as the server I am now on looks like its served by IIS - yuk!), and with ini_set for example there are work arounds, and with a bit of warning I could have made the changes in advance. As I had to scramble to fix my websites it was quickest to move to another server.

I see where your coming from sprint.

Maybe a solution is request to be moved back after you have had time to modify and test your code if you want to get on a secure server? I think the main itention of the non secure server was for customers who cant change their insecure code - so if you manage to I'm sure you'll be able to get your website transferred back.

I agree with that entirely. Although I haven't had any problems myself, you can see by how many comments there are on the forum the number of issues people have had. As said by the eUKhost people, sometimes it becomes a matter of urgency to put extra security in place and as such they can't tell everyone beforehand but hopefully the new mailing list will help to enlighten the people who need to know as soon as possible.

Yeah, I understand the need to make sudden changes. Even to be told immediately after the changes have been made would be better than nothing. At least then I would know to check for problems, rather than my customers pointing it out to me!

As I say, hopefully the mailing list will solve that as it'll mean people like you and me know before our customers and can put it right.

I already have enough hassle with mailman and websites without taking on any more me thinks.... Then again, if they pay is right! Lol.

Please, give me to the end of the work to work out my plans on taking over the world.... And personally I don't think I need to be CEO. Robert & Mark both do very good jobs high up in the company. Anyway, I wouldn't want to get to an income where I end up having to pay tax just yet. :-p

Income below tax? - is that possible. Isn't the basic tax threshold about 4000 a year? I know it is quite low.

Indeed it is. It's all about knowing about your money and where to put it and whose name to put it it. And I'm not planning on making my website design business anywhere near global just yet. The priority is my degree!

But I don't think that's quite to do with a phpwebsite being broken. However it's always good to think outside the box!
