Article management software - any recommendations?

Is anyone able to recommend an 'article management software', preferably open source? I'm essentially looking for something which will store & display (news) articles for a website hosting, with the option to support RSS feeds. The articles will often be accompanied by an image/photo. Whilst the articles would be published primarily by me it's possible a couple others may eventually also publish articles.

I think content management software is too excessive as only articles are being stored.

Hopefully someone can help me.

The only things I know which could do this are CMSes - I've had the same problem as you but unfortunately the more complicated are the better ones security wise and updates wise and plugins wise usually.

Have you tried something like this - Download Limeware 0.6.7 - Limeware is a free, lightweight, user friendly MySQL and PHP content management system - Softpedia

I can't vouch for it as I've never used it but seems basic enough (and its free).

Or you could try something like Wordpress - that is quite simple without all the add ons which you can disable.

Hmmm, thats a new one to me ArticleMS - it did make me chuckle though how the makers of ArticleMS have in fact used Joomla for their own website hosting!

Wouldn't that be a bit like Linux developers working on Windows? .

Oh yes, I do think it is.

I just find it amusing how the developers have developed a CMS but then used another persons CMS for their own website hosting .

Check OmniStarArticle*com (Replace the * with dot) It is expensive, but is easy to use and is a full-featured CMS Will let you know if I find something Free / Open Source.

This is inexpensive and, maybe, suits your needs.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any 'out of the box' free version which meets my needs (at a glance). So I've opted to custom-build a system. At present I've got the public interface working at... News - St Neots Town F.C. ...admitedly it's fairly basic however does the trick for now.

The back-end is still being worked on, however I've got the adding part just about sorted...
