I'd like to know under whose direction, or under what eUKhost moderator guidelines, this particular post was deemed to be so unfit for publication that the new member was banned?

Since when was there a stipulation that a member could only ask for advice in relation to an account on an eUKhost server? And where was the blatant promotion that you suggest? It was necessary to go into the member's profile to even find a website hosting link ...

And if what you're suggesting is factual, why wasn't the original poster also banned, as she appears to also publicise a homepage not hosted by eUKhost?

You also mention two posts — I can only presume the other was more contentious and was deleted? And if this is true, with it being a just reason for a ban, why is the member's profile and homepage link still available to link to and view?

I am neither offended nor upset; I am concerned however about fairness and that there appears to be inconsistencies over what is permitted and what isn't ...

The user is asking for help with a site, which he has linked to, that displays images and other content of a graphic sexual nature. There is no warning to any other poster, or anybody that would click on the link, that this website hosting is intended for 18+ over and even so, some adults also would not want to see this content.

As this is a family friendly forum I would expect eUKhost would recieve a great deal of complaints if parents found out there were links to pornography littered over the eUKhost forums.

This is just my view on the subject, for the specific reason he was banned you would have to contact the moderator in question

Well David, unlike you the moderator in question has chosen to remain silent!

No-one from eUKhost has answered my original questions; the point was to ask for an answer regarding guidelines, if indeed there are any, then to discuss whether there's consistency and fairness, along with the possibility of moderators taking time to explain their actions afterward — some do it, but it's uncommon. Instead all I got was responses from non-moderators ...

I have contacted the moderator in question and hopefully they will settle your fears regarding this subject.

The guidelines that the forum follows are much the same as the general service guidelines located at eUKhost - UK Web Hosting ::: Terms Of Service. If its not allowed on the servers or sites hosted here, its highly unlikely to be allowed as part of the forum.

I can understand what you are saying but I am making this post in my capacity as a moderator and you can be assured that I have made the moderation team aware of your concerns.

The link, although not deemed offensive by myself (it personally takes a little more to offend me) it could be deemed offensive to other eUKhost customers and especially those under 18 where it would be inappropriate to advocate such content.

If a moderator believes that a member of the forum is breaching any rules / guidelines or accepted standards such as set out in the TOS they have an absolute right to suspend (or ban) the user in question pending investigation.

I hope that you feel this reponse is satisfactory and if I can help you in any other way then I will be more than willing to do so.

UPDATE: I have contacted one of the Admins regarding removing the potentially offensive content from this users profile as they are the only ones with the authority to do so

I have removed ban from this users account, but his only intention was to promote his website hosting. I personally have no issues with any Gay or legal adult content website hosting hosted on our servers. Everyone has different opinion on such website hostings and we should not force our opinion unless we have any sort of trouble with such website hostings.

We should wait and see his next post as we cannot allow any spammer to spoil shape of our forums.

To be honest, IMO, adult content shouldn't be promoted at all on the eUKhost forums. These forums are viewable to those of all ages, including people under 18 for which this type of content is not suitable.
