Amazon will Launch Payment System
Amazon will launch shortly payment service to compete with Paypal & Google checkout. techcrunch.com/2007/08/01/amazon-to-launch-payments-services-will-compete-with-paypal-and-google-checkout/
It is always good for consumers those who are going to be benefited with such high level of competition.

Paypal will be a hard one to beat - it has been around ages and has gained a trusted customer base. However as a consumer I too welcome the competition. Thanks for the link paul .

Definitely David as a customer we should welcome it because in competition the end user gets most benefits.

Yes, actually Amazon has a strong brand awareness and wide user base with strong customer relationship that will add value to their prospective and also it can open a new door for the unsatisfied customers of Paypal.

Yes, also I guess Amazon will gain same lead as PayPal gained huge advantage from eBay.

Soon we'll be able to use our PayPal accounts in the high street shops. :P

It's only a prediction; but it would be nice.

That is a very valid point paul.
The only difference is Amazon will save a lot of money as they already own their own payment system whereas the owners of eBay had to buy out Paypal from its previous owners for a substantial amount of money after it gained success (not only on eBay but for online purchases in general).

Yes, that can be considered good strategy and hopefully eBay will not accept amazon payment as they are not allowing google checkout currently.

All these 'BIG GUNS' discussed in this thread are experts in penetrating the market and expanding their services, sooner or later. As mentioned in the discussion earlier, such competition provides customers with more options and advantages. Lets hope for the best!!!
