New service
Hello,
I'm soon to be launching a new project on the Acoot.co.uk website hosting it is a web hosting comparison website hosting for the UK hosting market.
People might think it may be bias running one of these and running a web hosting company but i would never cheat the system because i know we are 1 of the most affordable providers in the UK and wouldn't need to cheat
Just wanted to know if it would be a service you would use?
Currently the Acoot website hosting gains quite high volumes of traffic so it may be a good idea for all you with reseller packages to use this service to bag yourself some customers.
Let me know your thoughts?
Kind Regards
Robert

I prefer to go on recommendations from others via forums. Just because a web host offers lots of disk space and bandwidth etc. for a low price doesn't necessarily mean it's a good host. I think I came across eUKhost via a recommendation on a website hosting developing forum.

Yes that is an excellent way to go about it however alot of people don't have the time and knowledge to go through such services and by providing genuine reviews i think acoot could achieve a quick way also with a free directory service

It is short good domain name and especially easy to pronounce without rolling off the tongue. Wish you all the best!

If I may suggest, yours is another website hosting that needs proof-reading for both spelling and punctuation mistakes, however the good news is that there doesn't seem to be too many ...
There is one real howler though: "MANGED Dedicated Servers" instead of MANAGED. It's not a one-time slip-up as the error also appears in the combo box for chooosing a Search Category and the menu tree.
I'm not interested in anyone's mangy server, thank you!
I'm also wary of any purportedly professional search engine that features a Hacking/Cracking Category!
As for the question of whether I'd use the service to find hosting, probably not as I'm also wary of any unsubstantiated reviews. Neither am I interested in advertising my hosting in this way, but that's because I only offer hosting by invitation.
And whilst I began by struggling to understand how you can claim that the website hosting already has "quite high volumes of traffic" I then discovered that the domain is nearly 5 years old now. However, the original Web Directory sections have a very moderate number of operational links even now, so it doesn't seem to have generated many submissions, despite your claims for traffic!
So I guess that's the reason for a revamp but why is it so unfinished when it's been online for so long? Why no Terms of Use, no Privacy or Legal Policy statements to go with the links for them? Hopefully you'll get some better response now but do please finish it, soon ...

I like the idea and would probably end up using it. However, like has been said, finishing it should be a number 1 priority!!
If you need any help you know where I am .

Just one thing to mention that I have just noticed.
The forums have kind of been taken over which brings the image of the website hosting down. I have only looked on one page yet found "Jodie free live %%%", "Dog style brutal %%%", "Georgeous teen hungry for %%% sucking .... and %%%%ing doggys" - and there the more tame ones - I would say that definitely needs addressing.
I tried to filter the post as much as I can to make it suitable!!! It would appear the majority of the traffic seems to be bots, porn and spam but hopefully that can be turned around.

I blame my keyboard for typos because its a wireless one and seems to miss out letters when im typing im also a terrible speller.
Regarding the website hosting i have had this website hosting from start which is 5 years now. It started off as an online auction website hosting and even made the sun newspaper with a fan of Brighton placing one of their players on. But you cant compete with eBay.!
At the minute the website hostings sees an average of 500 uniques a day but im sure most of this is spam.
The reason the directory is not full is because i get around 100 submissions aday and 99% of these are spam as for the forums this was covered in spammers.
It disgusts me that spammers can take over a website hosting in such a way but slowly i am resolving the issue.
The website hosting is being finished i have not correctly launched the website hosting just thought i would share my progress so far.
Hopefully within 2 weeks the website hosting will be 100% online with all links correctly working.
Thanks for your comments they are much appreciated.
Regards
Robert

I know what you mean by the keyboard missing out letters, that's why I chucked my wireless one.

Ditto, I chucked my wireless one as well and reattached the standard keyboard that came with my computer. My wireless keyboard was Logitech, which was recommended to me but it ate batteries like there was no tommorow and missed letters which I found far too annoying - I would rather have the keyboard and mouse attached until they can make all these problems go away!

I know what you mean by eating batteries as well, even with Duracell batteries it would die within a couple of days. I still use my wireless mouse though, and always have done for the last year, maybe it's because it's a Microsoft one it's still going? The quality of keyboards coming with computers is getting better gradually, it used to be just plain old plastic basic ones, but now some of them are much nicer, especially the Dell keyboards.

The plain old keyboard and mouse (non-branded) that came with my computer have never let me down whereas my fancy expensive logitech one has, on many fronts so I like the bog standard keyboards. I think the fancy makes and models and wireless ones are trying to get ahead of themselves and forget that the primary purpose for the keyboard and the mouse is to make user input easier - not harder!!

Technika is basically a mask for Tesco Value technology. TBH, it's from Tesco, so what do you expect?
