Default Benifits of Directory Submissions

Three major benefits of Directory Submissions , which makes it indispensable tool of online marketing.
1. Higher Position In the Search Engine Results

2. Web Web site hosting Indexed

3. Click Through Traffic

What is the Relationship between directory submissions and Search Engine Optimization rankings
One way links and search engine rankings have a great cause and effect relationship. Think of it as a business referral system. The business with the more referrals is most popular and hence, search engines rank them higher. The reason behind it, as many put it, is that the more links you have, higher are the chances of a visitor coming to your web site hosting through these links!
Again, the search engines send out spiders to the links they find in the directory pages. This will bring the search engine spiders to your web site hosting and will get your web site hosting pages added to the search engines indexes automatically.
In future, the new search engines will also follow the same procedure. Hence, you won’t have to register to them, rather they will find you themselves!
You can also improve your sales!

Thanks for your post, unless you're getting deep links from dmoz/yahoo directories or so, I don't find any specific reason it will help to gain "Higher Position In the Search Engine Results"?

Thumbs up

Yes, you are right. I agree to the points mentioned by Tom. Directory submissions is one of the best techniques to improve your site rank in the search engines. Make sure, this technique is time consuming but the effect is seen later on. You will have to work very hard for this. Also, do keep a record of the directories you have submitted your links to. So that you don't submit your links again and save the time and energy required. Also, keywords are also important. So use the proper keywords to submit your site. Go ahead and submit your site to as many directories as possible. Best of luck

I think manual Directory submission is one of the best way to optimize your website and to achieve good visibility in search engines.

The importance of directory listings is falling because many directories gone astray and the reciprocal linking and paid links are saturated or already lost.

Directory submission is loosing popularity in the last few years.

However, there are still few quality directories which can help your website to score top rankings on search engines.

You can also try social bookmarking which will also yield good results.
