Yay! It seems like some of my time and effort has paid off. I now have PR1 on most of the pages on DPS Computing which is up from its original PR0.

As you may be able to tell, I am quite pleased and thank you to everyone who helped me get this far with the advice for my website hosting. It is much appreciated.

Now along with continuing to develop my website hosting, my secondary goal is to now get most pages achieving PR2 - any tips on how I can improve the current website hosting (www.dpscomputing.com) to further assist or speed up the process of gaining more page rank?

Congratulations on your achievement David! I would say that this achievement of PR1 is really evidence of all your hard work which you have put into DPS Computing.

haha. just a matter of 3 - 4 months

amount of posts he has in this forum will automatically take his Pagerank to PR6.

Yeh. Although I think the Google Pagerank algorithm is very broken - to be honest, it really shouldn't be determining the page rank of a website hosting from links on a message board - unless they are not contained within posts.

There is absolutely no way my website hosting is worthy of PR6.

I think forums are a nice way to build up good link backs and are a easy cheap way of doing so. Keep posting mate this forum will help

Also get your website hosting submitted on directory's and try and get a partner website hosting (with a good Page Ranking) this always helps. But it is hard to partner with website hostings if your Page Ranking is low.

Post comments and reviews on computer blogs/products this will help promote your website hosting but make sure where you post your details it is the same genre as your website hosting

Also, very good ideas Robert - thank you. I am going to have a go at implementing these things - and getting a partner website hosting is a good idea but like you said can be challenging but I am still going to give it a go.

Paul, I used eUKhosts handy page rank checker tool - I just stumbled across it on the website hosting and was surprised with the result as I have been used to it being 0 but I doubled check with prchecker.info and it confirmed what eUKhosts tool had said. If you visit the pages on DPS Computing (www.dpscomputing.com) you can see at the bottom of every page the current page rank of that page. On occassions it displays a question mark when the service is busy but most of the time it works correctly

Quantity and quality of backlinks is what you need to get good pagerank and there's nothing wrong in these patented tool of google. You get pr1 when you get backlink from 1 page, pr2 when you get backlink from 10 pages, pr3 when you get backlink from 100 pages and so on.

Also, if you get backlink from 1 pr7 website hosting then you are bound to get pr6 and if you get 3 backlinks from pr6 website hostings then you will get pr6. though the calculation is simple but pagerank has no importance when it comes to keyword rankings.

If you search "VPS Hosting web hosting" in google.co.uk then you will make out that the first website hosting listed over there has low Page Ranking in our comparison and low traffic as well. That one is managed by a single person but he must be getting good amount of signups due to such position for premium keywords. he has very few backlinks but the only thing that has ranked him on top is age of his domain. His domain is Gold as it tells google's algorithm to trust his website hosting ahead of others started in recent years.
