Links in signiture help with Search Engine Optimization?

If I put a link to website hostings I have recently finished in my signiture on this forum, will it help to improve their search engine rankings?

I always take every effort to ensure the quality of the website hosting and its content are up to the job, but I also recognise the obvious need to build back links. Hence why I thought adding links to my signiture here may help.

I think there is value for adding your URL to your signature but not for the sake of having the search engines crawl those things. Forum signatures are merely one linkback so one doesn't get multiple backlinks with every post made. Besides, many forums don't pass Page Ranking through signature links.

It would be beneficial if one is involved in niche forums related to his/her website hosting. Once you've become a true contributing member to the community and you've written something interesting in your posts, you are bound to get visitors to your website hosting through the signature link.

Yeah, also signature link can add value to your personality & status if you are good contributors and it work somewhat for online branding of your website hosting. If you get a chance you should include it.

Yes, also don't forget you get people who are interested in the topic of your website hosting clicking on the link just to see what website hosting they have created out of interest. When people get to know you on a forum they become more interested in the website hostings you have made.

Sound, another thing, Im worried that if I put the website hostings in my sig then any customers of those website hostings will find all my posts on google when they search for that website hosting by name. As some of these are for my clients do you suppose they would be annoyed?

Im trying to figure out if its "worth it" from all points of view, not just Search Engine Optimization I suppose.

If your customers permit you to add their website hostings in your signature and you maintain the integrity of it through good posting, I don't find there would be any reason that they will be annoyed.

I would advise asking permission before placing there website hostings in a forum sig. Don't forget people will associate your posts with their website hostings so you will rely have to comply with the views and wishes of the companies and website hostings you are representing if you are going to be posting using their name.
