In Some Places, Local Search engines Beating Google, Newsweek has detail about this, in some countries outside the US, local competition is giving good punch

to google, In Russia, portal web site hosting Yandex leads in both search and advertising similaraly in South Korea a company called "Naver" dominates. In the Cyrillic language market Google is a distant third in search.

Thanks for that article paul. Really interesting. Don't forget that in the past Google was one of these "small" search engines that started beating the likes of Ask Jeeves and Yahoo and is eventually how they became as big and powerful as they are today.

That's very true, so as web site hosting owner we should concentrate on local search engine as well that will help significantly to boost up traffic from local search too.

Yes, hopefully this will happen and they won't be blinded by the prospect of millions and lose interest in customer service!
