I went with similar company.

Results so far show an increase in page views 3,832 with highest number visit on one day at 50.

This since 1st Nov.

This has shown that I need to make it easier for them to fill my form in.

But are the page views from human visitors or bots/crawlers? You could have 45 bots visitiing your site, making your page views seem higher, whilst the number of actual people viewing the site remains the same.

I have no idea would suspect most are bots.

Any idea of how i can find out if they are bots or real people?

Yes, indeed one of the main criticism of AWstats include log data analysis of non-human traffic that completely disrupts web statistics. An old primitive method, page tagging works by including page tags that calls the server logs when a normal browser visits a page, not a bot. i.e. it will exclude human traffic. However, this approach missed information which was essential to the management.

AWstats provides automated traffic and reports and at the same time maintains separate data from human user report. Web Log analysis can be reported objects and cannot easily read through tags, such as tags and binary document files.

I'm sure Webalizer seperates and tells you how many hits you have from bots? I know one of the stats programs does .

You can easily figure out quality of traffic from Awstats. You can compare your daily page views and unique visitors. If your daily page views total for each day of month is more than twice of the unique visitors then there's something wrong.

You can also scroll down and check how many visitors you are getting from Google, Yahoo and MSN. You can also check the Browser statistics from Awstats.
