Yes, i do believe that along with the website optimization, web hosting is also important and plays a vital role. I think web hosting is the main entrance to the Internet World and online presence of your website.

Though, the content of the website is considered to be the most important factor in search engine optimization, the algorithms of different search engines also includes some factors to determine the uptime of the website and the time it takes to load.

Hence, if your website does not remain online and loads slowly, this will definitely affect your website rankings in search engines. Due to this reason, web hosting plays a very vital role in search engine optimization of the website

What Simon74 has stated is absolutely correct,some of the search engines have the ability to record the uptime and the loading time of websites,which results in the rankings. Yes, you should make sure to get guaranteed Uptime because you'll never like that the search engine robots find your website down while crawling.

This is definitely a benefit, however, this can turn in a drawback if your website faces downtime or loads slowly as the search engine robots/spiders will get this information which will definitely affect your website's search engine rankings

Indeed,the performance of the website is largely dependent on the quality and performance of the server.Thats a good clarification given by Ryan.I have my site hosted on the Business hosting package too, and now after his explanation,I realise the reason why my websites haven't faced a downtime,though initially before signing-up with euk,I somewhat remember them telling me something of this sort.But,now am really thankful to these guys to have suggested me this plan.

I would suggest people wanted to host their website/s on euk,to make your requirements clear,these guys would suggest you the most suitable hosting package.

People who thinks that Search Engine Optimization consists only link building and on-page activities, usually neglect the power and role of website hosting. The location of your host where your website is hosted makes much difference in search enigne ranking for your web page.

Yes actually,there is so much of words exchanged about the onsite optimization that these crucial facts simply go unnoticed. At the backend,where the website is hosted on the server,it needs to be powerful and fast,otherwise there would be a negative overall effect on the websites performance,hence would be a drop in the rankings.

okay theres a few things that need clarifying here.

First off, server speed does NOT affect organic results directly OR the effect of any onsite Search Engine Optimization. your server speed will not have any effect on the position of your pages in the serps.

However, server speed DOES affect usability and visitor retention, and therefore will ultimately affect sales or conversions.

Server speed will also affect how many pages can be crawled on your site within a set time. However, this in itself will not affect how your pages are indexed. If you check in google webmaster tools you will see stats for server response and number of pages crawled. No matter how low this is, your pages will all still be crawled, providing its not appalingly low like an average of 8+ seconds response time for example. The only issue you really need to be aware of is if any pages are actually timing out.
