Well it was scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2007 but not got any further news. I am waiting for it. Interesting to see with what algorithms it comes. IMO, It cant compete with Google because there are maximum users who trust Google only. Lets see..

Hmm, well I have never heard about this. I think they would grow in the search market if they included accurate results, for instance if you searched for "Clothing" it would give resilts according to their keywords. Can't wait to see it launch.

Yep, this could be good move since Wikipedia now adds the “nofollow” attribute to all external links and getting heavy critic on this.

naruto, so far they have announced this; "Wiki users will collaborate to build an index of Web website hostings that anyone can edit. They also will be able to fix search results if they don't give useful information" I guess you have missed this link there: insidebayarea.com/business/ci_5406665

Sounds like it'll be great for spammers and arguments between webmasters.

I think wikipedia want some share from search engine market, they might have some strategy and obviously they need to keep their algorithms secret otherwise it would be just useless.

That's smashing!!!
But I wonder how long such a concept would last as there are loads of spammers waiting for such open invitations.
Based on their previous experience, I hope WIKI's will come up with some better techniques.
