Default My sites: Critique welcomed :)

Feedback appreciated.

Some of you will know from my previous threads and posts on these forums what I have had hassles with with each respective website hosting.

All done using Dreamweaver 8.

Hopefully you can see some sort of "progression" in my ( limited ) ability and skill, going from the first one I did to the last.

The first one I did was www.indagatio.co.uk

Its due a major overhaul just shortly, within the next few weeks in fact and I'm going to use for the first time to design and publish a website hosting, Dreamweaver CS3 so I can play around with Spry and see what results I get from that.

Next one up was http://www.pollocksomerville.co.uk

Next one is www.glasgowkayakclub.com

And lastly, this is my latest effort:-

www.firstdriving.co.uk

The kayak one has a few issues, I know. The gallery does not display correctly within Firefox for some unknown reason and if you resize the webpages down to quite small in width, some of the content gets screwed up and drops off to the bottom of the page.

Any critique/suggestions welcomed.

For what its worth, I was a total newcomer to web design up until March this year, I hardly knew a bit of HTML, so I'm quite pleased with how far I have manage to come so far.

Thumbs up

Well RSVEcosse, whatever you have done till now seems to be a quite good effort in all! And from what you said i.e., you knew only a bit of HTML, I'd really appreciate your efforts and vision to get a simple, yet attractive website hosting online (Wish even I have a good website hosting soon)
Keep it up Dude!!!

After a quick look to all of your website hosting, I found all your website hostings are good, just I would like to suggest to add a great logo & improve usability keeping Search Engine Optimization techniques in mind.

From only starting out at March this year, really good job! The scary thing however is even after years of using html, I'm still learning! Lol.

I too never think I am expert in anything as I am learning new things everyday, I am still a journey man.

The kayak one is a very nice design - very impressed by that one.

With the driving school page you have definitely captured the standard look of driving school pages, perhaps you could have gone for something more original.

good work overall, you're obviously a quck learner.

I checked the first two sites and they are really good. The second one is as profesional-looking as can be done by any established designer! I am really surprised that you had no previous experience of HTML or web designing!! Well, they both are really good and I think you have a bright future. Cheers and Keep it up!

I have more than 20 years experience in the computer field (started as a dbase III programmer in 1987, and then as CAD designer (mechanical, architectural, PCB), as a Graphics manager in Saudi and then as a software (client-server) consultant in US and UK). This is just to humbly tell you that I am speaking out of experience (as a graphics professional myself) that even though as a "novice", as you humbly call yourself, you have really impressed with these compact sites. Again, you have done positively good jobs! You are a fast learner. Amazing!
