I am not technical. Oh sure, I can install scripts, mod CSS, and even play with some rudimentary PHP.
But I am not technical.
So when I decided to add
website hostings to my portfolio of offerings to customers who needed my sales expertise you can imagine how much I messed up in the short time!
Hosting companies that were cheap, but that was their only saving grace -
website hostings that were not cross browser compatible - sites with gaping security holes - yup, I've done most of the really bad stuff!
Thing is - as my knowledge grew, so did my requirements from my host.
I expect technical support
I expect a degree of inherent security
I expect a great deal that I don't want to pay for!
eUKHost is a company I found quite by chance - and if you are reading this then you may have too.
As an example I am now running a relatively complicated install based on Wordpress - but it is actually a shop (welshfarmorganics.co.uk if you want to take a look). So we have a non-standard implementation of blogging software.
Despite this relative complexity the web site hosting remains stable and accessible.
Last night I had (what I thought) was a major problem with ftp access. After several hours of toing and froing by the technical support team the resolution turned out to be a local setting on my ftp client.
So not only did multiple members of the support team have to help me - but also they solved a problem that was actually on my local machine not on the server.
£9.99 per month rarely buys much - and certainly wouldn't have made this company anything on me this month!
The level of skill, dedication and willingness to deliver service is only complimented by the ludicrously cheap hosting.
Did you get here by accident whilst looking for a hosting company? Then stop looking and do yourself a favour and sign up.
You might even do it before you lose all you hair if you get off your existing host quick!
