I don't like any of these 3 Webmail apps. Not sure how good roundcube is but I stopped using webmail few years back due to poor look and feel of the webmail interface.

I like good ole' Outlook Web Access - you can't beat that. I've tried the Zimbra OS Collab. Suite - the webmail interface built into it is quite nice since it uses Ajax. I would use Roundcube - but it doesn't have a built in RTE for composing. IMO, the three listed are pretty ugly and only for basic use.

Roundcube has some nice drag and drop features for sorting your email into folders, it uses ajax, so it can do all that nice javascript gui stuff.

It's still in beta, but RTE is a planned feature.

Unfortunatly for me, I have to use webmail when I'm at work because I can't connect to smtp or imap through our proxy.

IMO, an RTE should have been intergrated initially; so many client programs and other webmail apps already have one.

Well Outlook web Access is only available with MS Exchange Servers and is very expensive.

The best webmail that I have ever seen is MeWebmail which is available with MailEnable Enterprise 3.0. It is as good as using Outlook on your local machine.

Sorry if I mention this.. since we were suppose to discuss webmail on cPanel and these are for Windows.

Don't you guys read? Talk about hijacking a thread!

The question was "...the best webmail app within cPanel?" Since when did the others being discussed feature in a standard cPanel build?

I ticked Horde — it is barely good enough but it's heaps better than either of the alternatives ...

Nothing wrong with expanding a thread.

Anyway, a thread discussing webmail for cPanel can easily drop dead after 3 posts.

Since we are talking about cPanel webmails.. NeoMail should not be included as it is no longer available within cPanel.

I'm not surprised but I find it quite disturbing that people are voting for SquirrelMail, which to me is about as far removed from aesthetically pleasing as what's under its bushy tail ...

SquirrelMail has some genuine lifetime users since the age of Ensim, H-Sphere and Plesk(old) control panel. I dont think they will consider Horde for any reason as they are using SquirrelMail from very long time.

Well Mark, considering the average age of users of this forum is probably well under 25, how do you justify "...genuine lifetime users since the age of Ensim, H-Sphere and Plesk(old) control panel. I dont think they will consider Horde for any reason as they are using SquirrelMail from very long time"? Unless you're saying a very long time is 5 years or so?

Own up, who are the four members who prefer SquirrelMail and please give your reasons? That's the purpose of this poll, isn't it?

Thats wrong. Most of our new members on this forum are 30+ and I have helped few customers with Squirrelmail problems recently. Some of our old members are below 20 but new members are above 30

My vote went to Squirrelmail as "none" was not there earlier. We prefer Squirrelmail to troubleshoot webmail problems on any specific server as Horde is slow compared to Squirrelmail. As I said earlier, I don't like any of the Webmail apps included by cPanel, but Squirrelmail is somewhat better than Horde and I am the one who has been using Squirrelmail from last 5 years

Main reasons I use squirrel mail is the fact it loads a lot faster than horde and when I'm accessing it on a mobile phone, that is a key consideration. And when I'm using webmail, I'm normally out and about and it just works with it being so fast.

I do use outlook normally when I'm using my laptop but to me, squirrel mail proves a fuss free interface where you can do all the basic things you need to do in email with ease and not have to work out where something is.
