Default cPanel For Windows

I just checked out the cPanel website hosting and noticed that they are finally releasing a Windows version. What do you think? Is this a good or a bad move?

I have my doubts of whether cPanel for Windows will be that stable. I'd prefer to stay with Plesk for Windows.

I can't massively comment on this as it's been ages since I've used windows hosting but cPanel is easy to use for most people and from all the trouble that's been going on in the last few days, I would say it could be very useful! Would help ease the transition as well for people going from linux to windows etc.

I would give cPanel for windows at least 12 months before trying it out at eukhost - I like Plesk - its easy to navigate and looks a bit windows-like so is a familiar environment for most. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And on the subject of Hosting Controller, if it ain't broke it soon will be so fix it now with Plesk lol.

I think its a pretty good move as it is not being modded to work from a current version to Windows, it is a complete rewrite. It would be interesting to see when it does come out how many people will switch to it.

I would still recommend Linux for cPanel. I doesn't matter how good cPanel is - Windows will find a way to ruin it .

It depends on when Windows Server 2008 is released.

I read in zdnet that Window Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 all will come together on single launch on February 27, 2008, that means it will lgo for march 2008 release possibly.

Okay, it is a nice news, but I think Plesk will remain the best hosting control panel for windows

Plesk can be notoriously slow and SWSoft are bitches when it comes to getting support. I think cPanel for Windows will dramatically change the scene of the Windows hosting market.

If you ask me I am looking forward for the cPanel release on Windows 2008 and it is definitely going to change the Plesk days.

I have read alot on these release. Microsoft has designed IIS Web Server7 to work smoothly with fast-cgi and will be capable of holding 7000 domains. So we all can expect cPanel to be faster than what Plesk is today. IIS Web Server7 has alot in it which will eventually help us to forward them to our clients.

cPanel has collaborated with Microsoft therefore they will take every measures to bring Plesk down to earth. cPanel now knows the Microsoft technology but Plesk will need to wait till Feb and then start digging.

I'm kind of looking forward to seeing cPanel for Windows. On a related note - just been using Windows Server 2008 - and I can definitely say WOW! For once it seems Microsoft has got something right. A great improvement on 2003 and very stable .

I've been looking at comments about it and it certainly seems to be a very promising and attractive prospect! The two together could be a very formidible team when it comes to Windows hosting!

Well, Microsoft has made the announcement of collaborating with cPanel in some very huge events. We can say that it is definitely going to release or else it will hit the repo of Microsoft if not cPanel.
