Thumbs up Does UK Host offer SSL Certificate?

Hi guys,

Firstly I would like to congratulate you guys for being around "after hours" and for providing excellent support!

Today I purchased SSL for my website hosting: www. r3gsm.com

I installed (or tried) the certificates as explained by comodo and all went well....UNTIL it got to step 2.

This is where I realised I needed a dedicated IP to continue with setting up the SSL.

I sent you guys an email late this afternoon, and to my surprise, tonight I noticed you have already changed me from shared to dedicated. And for that fast work I applaud you!!

My only problem now is that I cannot get my main mage back up and now have that Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server
displayed instead of my nice new webpage!

I had a look but cannot see any script that will disable this and give me back my original website hosting.

If it helps, I did have a redirect script running from the index.html pointing to the actual website hosting located at: www. r3gsm.com/site but have had no luck in getting things back to normal.

So, my question is: How can I put the website hosting back up and remove the apache page?

WBR

Darren

Question

UPDATE:

Ok, after 2 hours of searching and juggling, and have now managed to find the location of my original website hosting template, but cannot redirect the home page (which stil shows the Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server
) on my initial page, unless I set the ip of 87.117.234.205 (http:// 87.117.234.205/site/index.php) instead of r3gsm. But my website hosting has no images and the css is all messed up!!

So, now I ask another question - how to fix this problems and get all the pages back to norm?

If it is going to be hard work and a struggle I would rather the website hosting was put back on shared ip and I will just have to use paypal.

I only wanted the website hosting to have ssl so customers could submit payment details for card processing!!

Regards

Darren

Hello Darren,

It seems that the DNS is taking much more longer than it should be for propagation. I was able to see your website hosting in 30 mins after the IP was changed and I am not sure why it would take more than 2 hours at your end.

You can visit megaproxy.com to browse your website hosting. It seems that the cache on your local machine or ISP is taking long time to clear.

Default New IP timelag

Even in these days of almost instant DNS changes I have found that going dedicated from shared WILL take close to 24 hours to sort itself out.

That is based on eNom and hSphere on serveral different providers. nt tried it on the eUKhost VPS Hosting yet

Mail seems to be unscathed but the web content seems to be at risk for at least a day - assuming it was all setup perfectly. Make a change before it has finished and it gets much worse.

I have not found any way round this!

Chris

Thanks guys!!!

I just spoke to a friend and he says maybe you have to decrypt the key using ssh and change the http.config file before I can use the ssl.

He said there is an error: Alert
87.117.234.205 has sent an incorrect or unexpected message. Error Code: - 12263

And until that is fixed your end I cannot use ssl

Please update me on this

WBR

Send us the .crt and .key file as an attachment in ticket. We will sort things properly as we have root access.

Yur friend cannot do much from his end as he has limited access. We have expertise in sorting such problems so its better to let us do things.

AND we don't charge you for support so why you need someone else to do this job

ok, I have sent over the required certificates and info via email.

And this is why I have 3 website hostings hosted by you guys, and when my hosting for 3 other website hostings finishes this year I will transfer them all over to you guys.....

Much appreciated

Hello Darren,

Your certificate was successfully installed on the server and I have verified working of the cert from https:// r3gsm.com/site/index.php

You purchased the certificate for domain without www. TLD so you will need to make necessary changes in .htaccess and internal links to ensure that customers dont go on www. r3gsm.com

Your friend could have never installed the cert as SSL installation from cpanel will never create entries in httpd.conf and without that your cert will never work.

Hi guys,

I have just noticed that I no longer have ssl on my website hosting, so before I complain to the provider (instantssl) is there any way I can tell what the problem is? e.g. if it is hosting or certificate problem

https:// r3gsm.com is no longer, but the normal http: //r3gsm.com is alive and working.

Regards & thanks again for your time

Darren

Hello Darren,

Not sure what went wrong but SSL service went down on the server. I restarted ssl with httpd and trying to figure out why this happened.
