Have I made a dreadful mistake!
Oh Dear!
I switched from my previous hosting provider because they were overcharging me. However, from a technical point of view, everything always ran smoothly. No downtime, webmail and CP access quick and easy. I could have switched to a similar package as the one I have here, for the same price, but decided to switch to eukhost.
It's taking me hours to configure email, because it takes upwards of 5 minutes to load a new page when I switch from one option to another. It takes upwards of 5 minutes to log into webmail so I can test settings. Every mailbox insists on setting itself to Admin, regardless of what I set in the mailbox options. The MailEnable section has most of the settings grayed out. And everything times out far too quickly, forcing me to relog and start the whole process again.
Is this normal service for eukhost? or are you, like me, having a very bad day? I hope it's the latter, otherwise I'm going to have to move on again!
Thanks
**EDIT** Sorry, I can answer my own question - "Server Application unavailable" now - I can't work like this. Time to hunt for the refund policy I think! **

I would imagine its just been a bad day. possibly there's been some routing problems slowing down access. I usually find the cpanel and webmail very quick to access.
When I transferred to EUK host, i gave them my username and password for the CPanel of my old hosting - and they transferred everything (site, domains, emails, all settings...) across on to their server. I was well 'appy!

It's been a bad day and getting worse for me! - I get 5 - 15 minutes at a time, then "Server Unavailable" and another 5 minutes to log in again. Rinse and Repeat.
To be fair, support seem to be on the case and keep emailing me to check. I just get enough time to respond, then everything's off again.

It shouldn't do! Rest assured this is not typical service. Access to my CPanel seems ok to me. Do you know which server you are on? Is it UK or US based?

Hello,
We are fully aware of this issue and I am personally contacting my colleagues about this case.

There seems to be an issue with HostingController, cPanel is working fine.

There has been no reply from Nige but he seems to be on Tucano ( Windows Server ). Tucano had some problem this evening as one of our new staff member made some permission problems on it. Our Senior Windows System Admins have disabled everyone's remote access to the windows servers due to this mistake.
Now we'll have only 1 senior person in every shift who will have access to RDP. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks.
All settled down eventually last night (I didn't get any notifications, which is why I didn't respond yesterday).
Just the question of the Mailbox Type options reverting to Admin to solve now! I submitted a ticket yesterday, so hopefully...
Sorry for coming across so scratchy yesterday - It was driving me bananas!

oops!
Spoke to soon - here I am today at another location (so different hardware, different connection than yesterday, just in case the suggestion is that it's a fault at my end), and so far, Host Controller has locked up twice in 15 minutes, Webmail has locked up twice, MailEnable has locked twice too and one of the groups I painstakingly put together bit by bit yesterday, and tested, has now lost all its members.
Day #2 - so still early days I suppose, but so far I am definitely not impressed. To think I could have got the same price for the same deal from my previous hosting company (and they wanted to give me 3 months free because I told them I was moving), and I jumped from the fying pan into this. I'm laughing at the moment, because so far it's all been a bit of a joke!

Thanks.
All seems to be ok again now from an access point of view. There's just the issue of the Mailboxes that won't set to "User" (Trouble Ticket #41). Apart from that, everything's ok.

seems like you have opened a ticket from control panel itself. We do get notification of those on our helpdesk but its better if you open tickets in future from http://support.eukhost.com
I hope you had a look at the welcome email as it was mentioned in it that tickets should be opened from http://support.eukhost.com

Ah, ok. Thanks.
Sorry, just got confused, during the technical problems, as to which bit does what, and which log in is required for which particular area.
I'll remember in the future. Should I resubmit the Trouble Ticket through the proper channels, or will the orginal one be dealt with anyway?

I would request you to resubmit the ticket from http://support.eukhost.com. You will get an auto response with a ticket ID as soon as you submit the ticket. The ticket ID would then be useful to keep a follow up on the status of your issue.
Fee free to ask if you have any further queries.

Hi Nigel,
This should be fixed permanently now. Let me know if you face this problem again hereafter...

I've had a word with our senior windows system admins to complete the upgrade of HC6 as quickly as possible but the upgrade process is quite lengthy and it involves many steps.
You seem to be loosing your temper very quickly but there should be no problems now as Jack has sorted this problem permanently. We will complete the upgrade on this Saturday as it got delayed for 2 weeks due to all complications involved in the upgrade process.

At the risk of being told off again, and I must stress that I have not lost my temper - just a little bit more faith in the capability of this hosting company -

I am equally frustrated with this server and I have given final 24 hours time to our system admins to fix problems with it. If not then we will replace this server with another high configuration server. There should be no downtime as we will use rebuildexpress to move accounts on new server.
I'll keep you updated with how we proceed tomorrow.
