Default Hotmail problems anyone?

With my domain emails, I receive from EUK and send via ISP. I sent a couple of emails earlier today via ISP and they were returned from Hotmail with:

SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<?@??> SIZE=5885:
host mx1.hotmail.com [65.54.245.8]: 550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit MSN Postmaster for email delivery information and support

Thinking it may be because the domain and smtp didn't tally, I sent it via EUK's webmail service and received exactly the same rejection email. In the unlikely event both email servers are blacklisted y Hotmail, any ideas what else may be the problem? I have raised a ticket, but that just asks if the EUK servers on on the list and not on what else the problem may be.

Hi Mark,

Hotmail doesn't like such arrangement. They have "Sender Verification" enabled on their email servers and approve only those emails which pass the sender verification test.

If you send email from mark@ntp.tiscali.co.uk and show your email address as mark[@]markfish.co.uk then your emails won't be accepted by hotmail.

Hello,

The server's main IP address is black listed by hotmail and hence emails are getting rejected.
We have contacted hotmail to get it removed but it would take another 24 to 48 hrs to get it removed from their block list.

I have just verified that this appears to be a EUK mail server problem. Checking my email client, I found that instead of sending via my isp's settings as I thought, they were in fact being sent by mail.domainname.co.uk and rejected. These would be the same settings, I imagine, that were being rejected when using the webmail system too.

I changed my outgoing settings to smtp.ispsettings.com and sent the email with no problems, that was 30 minutes ago and it hasn't come back. I now have to do some grovelling to them after accusing them too

This suggests to me that the ambridge server has been put on the Hotmail blacklist for one reason or another.
