Issues with joomla Hosting
Hi guys,
I am using joomla web hosting for one of my website hostings - R3GSM LTD
Today I logged in to admin and tried to edit and add a new section, but each time I click on save, I just get redirected straight back to the main r3gsm page and nothing is added or edited.
Anyone else come across this problem? I need to get some things edited asap and cannot seem to do anything with the website hosting now
Regards
Daz
p.s. please move this if in wrong section

And not sure if this helps, but I found this in system info:
Warning: php_uname() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/r3gsmco/public_html/site/administrator/components/com_admin/admin.admin.html.php on line 111

I have sorted the redirect problem for you but php_uname cannot be sorted on the server hosting your account.
php_uname is the biggest insecure feature used by Joomla. You will need to replace it with alternative function.
If you cannot manage without it then I can move your account on another server which allows php_uname.

I strongly suggest you turn away from stuff like Joomla.
Joomla is possibly one of the worst pieces of online software for "hacking incidents".

To be honest, I'm not really the person to ask about that - as I don't use any content management system. I'm sure you could find better ones though which are more secure, or you could even code your own.
If you just want a basic one which was coded in a few days, sourceforge "CMSFire". Mind you, it was coded quickly, and the project has been abandoned.

Wordpress is good. More of a blog than a CMS but you can change it so it virtually looks and operates like a CMS. It has loads of great plugins, is easy to use and install through fantastico and is quite secure .

k, thanks for advice & input guys - just gotta wait for Mark to get back to me to advise why this has happened again!!
The joomla seems to run quite smoothly apart from this silly problem, which I do not think is a joomla problem, being that Mark managed to fix the problem before, and I am not running joomla on my other website hosting (is cubecart) and it is experiencing the very same problem!
I cannot update or ammend anything and it is very frustrating....
Mark - are you there mate??

Hello,
The problem you are facing seems to be due to the mod_sec on the server. But you need not worry and even get annoyed about the problems you are facing, coz mod security is a module added for the server's security to prevent it from the fear of hack or intrusion attempts. You can have more details about mod security at http://modsecurity.org/
I am sure you will understand the need for such security updates and give time for the eUKhost team to get things sorted out. I know they are the best and thus do their best to get you goin!!!

Yes, Joomla! especially has lots of known issues with the mod_security rules. I found it a nightmare in general to get working the way I wanted it to.

Thanks for input - I am not getting annoyed just yet, frustrated yes, because I have important information to add to one of the website hosting's and products to list on my online shop, and having over £3k of new products which cannot be advertised for over 4 days now, meant that I had to resort to advising some customers about the new products via phone and email & then take orders and payment over the phone, which has been a bit of a drag and time-consuming for me and has affected business!
I understand it is not a joomla problem, not a cubecart problem, but I just wish it is resolved as quickly as possible - the guys here have been really great in the past, and I know & appreciate how busy they are, but I have paid for hosting & other services that I cannot use due to security measures in place to stop hacking!
It's like buying a car but not receiving the keys to drive it!!
Anyway, I hope it gets sorted soon

If mod_security is causing your problems you can always disable it .

Yeah Darren
lil late this time and I apologize for that. I've disabled mod_security for your account so you should not face any problems now. There's no other way to fix this problem with Joomla installation as Joomla gets blocked for the most important security rules in mod_security.

At least its all sorted for you now Darren - and you didn't even have to disable mod_security yourself .
Good luck with the rest of your website hosting .
