Then use a paid host such as euk :P

There is better support with a paid host and paid is more reliable.

Yeah absolutely right. You'll save a lot of time and effort going straight to a good paid host (like EUK). I don't think anyone offering free hosting is too concerned about good uptime, reliable service, good customer support etc...

There are more opinions on free hosts here : good free hosting

Well rocklee0891, I am not sure if freehostia provides joomla "ready-to-install" in their control panel or not. But as far as my guessing is concerned, it won't be there since the control panel they have mentioned there is called "Advanced Control Panel", which won't have joomla ready-to-install script embedded in it.
I would thereby suggest you to first contact their sales/support team confirming this stuff and if they do not then, you have 2 options left with you:
1> Download the joomla script from JOOMLA's OFFICIAL WEBSITE => joomla.org and refer to the installation document on the same website hosting and have JOOMLA installed manually
2> Choose some another paid/free hosting provider, who provide cpanel embedded with fantastico, as fantastico has ready-to-install JOOMLA script using which you can install joomla on your website hosting with much of ease
Last but not the least, I would suggest you to go for eUKhost for your web hosting provider, coz we are well-know for our customer support and other attracting features like 24/7/365 phone, chat and ticket support, free domain registration with hosting purchase etc. You can refer our OfficialWebsite Hosting for more details

I believe that there are several online forums offering huge lists of free web hosts. I've not frequented most for a couple of years, but Namepros.com was one I remember being particularly good, along with Freewebhosts.net.

I wish you the best of luck finding a reliable free web host, as they are extremely rare. Remember, almost nothing in life is truly free.

Yeah, I would have gotten a paid host long ago, but I have to credit card, or way to pay them... So, that's why I'm trying to get the free host, thanks a LOT for your help anyways, I'll try a lot of this stuff out. Thanks.

(Sorry if I broke any rules by double posting!)

Well guys, thanks for all your help, I went with freehostia, they even had an option to let me automatically install Joomla, it's great, I'm not gonna' post the link to my website hosting because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want that, once again thank you all. ^^

Rock, you seem like a nice friendly guy, but I have to smile at the sheer balls-out attitude of coming to a webhost's forum asking members for directions to a freehost's website hosting.

Part of me applauds you for this and part of me...well, doesn't. I'm sure eukhost doesn't mind, because sooner or later almost everyone who's serious about running a website hosting(s) graduates from freehosting to paid hosting for the reasons already outlined by others in posta above this, so I guess they hope you'll come back here to buy.

Also they're just super-nice people, the kind who carefully move worms to the side when gardening so as to avoid hurting them (can eukhost confirm or deny this zen-like approach to the universe?).

you have mentioned this phrase with technical prospect but it has made me recall those days when my garden was full of worms and they all loved Spinach like anything. I use to watch them eating it like popeye.

let me get back to technical side.
=============================

I know the level to which we have taken our company and what talent we have today in our company. people who have experience in managing any kind of Linux or Windows server of any configuration and no matter if you run one of the biggest website hosting or database in the world but we will be better than your expectations with its management.

talk to your friends using service of other companies and ask them what sort of problems they had recently and stories will be full of hacking, cracking and injection attempts. thats when you will tell them to switch to eukhost and that discussion will make us reach each and every home in Europe in coming few years.

you are most welcome to test our technical skills and our knowledge on security of servers. other companies may have talented people but over here our people give 100%. our team has been biggest part of our success in last 2 years.

crikey, there's nothing like thinking big, is there? What's the ten year plan? World domination, armed with nuclear-grade servers and a fluffy white cat? (hears maniacal laugh of megalomaniac)

Seriously, I know that already, I've read the posts in the technical forums and they way you deal with them - that's why i bought hosting from you (and if I get real good, I may upgrade to my own server with you. But i'm still learning and building, so that's a little way off). Let's hope Rock feels the same way (and anyone else reading this thinking, "Who shall i get as my webhost?"

So, hat's off to you , eukhost: a fine job indeed. But watch out for a man named Bond!

Yep !

this trick has worked for us so far. one customer was comparing pricing of our domain registration service with some other companies and I told him to register domains from other companies for first year and get them moved to us next year. He said "why would I move those to you for 2nd year when you charge twice for domain registration"

my answer was "after 1 year £9 wont make any difference to you, your website hosting will grow and your domains will be valued more than hundred times of £9 so it would be better for you to keep your domain and website hosting in 1 place"

guess what he did ?

he registered his domains with us and now he has a dedicated server with us. that discussion made him focus on his growth and his success makes me feel a better CMO

Hi, to answer you question. There are hosts which are very good and are free! They have no advertisements but you have to have a registered domain to host with them or just use a subdomain! Just like *Link Removed* but honestly www.eukhost.com is the best!

Best Regards

Younes

To be honest with you, I think paid hosting is alot better!
I do webhosting and domain registrations too! Below is my website hosting!

*Link Removed*

Basically, free hosting goes down a lot and has many problems whereas the paid hosting has alot less problems and has a 99.9% uptime!

Best Regards

Younes

Why would anybody tolerate free hosting when paid hosting is 22.99 a year ? If you want a bunch of website hostings, just buy your name and subdomain it, simple as.

I would echo what's been said - as paid hosting is dirt cheap these days (although I've noticed that a lot of the cheaper packages don't include MySQL anymore- which seems amazing- this used to be the one staple of any basic package - I can't understand why this is now the case... maybe because people have actually started using them? lol). Paid hosting is far more reliable and if there are problems on the server - those on free hosting should surely be the last to have their website hostings sorted.
Free hosting is great for messing around with server technology and testing scripts etc - but if you want a website hosting that is accessible to the world consistently then pay for it.

paid hosting allows you to behave like a customer and get on top of the hosting company no matter what amount you have paid them. webhost is bound to give you support when you pay then and if they don't give support then look for other company with low cost hosting plans

Yeah, you should pay for your web hosting. Paid hosts are much easier to find, and they're also more reliable too! I have enough money for one, but my parents don't let me spend any money. So you really do it!
