Default Moving Hosting , but not mail

Ok here is the situation , think ive got it sussed but just wanted to run it past you guys:-

Client has domain and hosting with 123 , I will be hosting his site, but he has an exchange server that picks up his mail , there is a DNS record on 123 for it. So if I point the nameservers at EUK then change the DNS in WHM for his domain to point back to his IP will this work as it is at the moment ?

If it does work , will there be any e-mail downtime ? what would happen to the mail ?

Thanks.

Yes, you can use our nameservers for that domain. Once the domain start resolving from our nameservers, you can update the MX record for the domain point to your exchange server.

You may face a downtime of 4 to 8 hrs as the nameserver would take that much time to propagate world wide.

There are 2 options to make this possible.

1. Point A records of their domain to our Servers IP and their website will start resolving from our server. You can leave the MX records as they are as their mails are working from their ms exchange server right now.

2. Point nameservers of their domain to our server and then modify their MX records to make those point to their ms exchange server.

Both options will work as per your requirement and you can choose one which makes you feel more comfortable.
