Default New Domain Registrar

Hi,

I am looking for a new domain registrar to replace 1and1. I dont have a problem with 1and1 except that they will not let me renew my domain early (expires in 4 months) and does not let me renew for 5 years on my .com

Currently 1and1 charge £1.99 of my .co.uk and £8.99 of my .com.

Anyone know who can offer a similar pricing structure but allow me to renew early and for 5+ years on my .com

Cheers

UKReg do let you renew early sometimes, and so do eNom. Pipex/Webfusion seem good when I've looked at them before, I think they allow you to renew early... have a look...

I use UKreg for UK domain registrations as their control panel is excellent and there's no fuss or charge to transfer domains into or away from them. http://www.ukreg.com

For all other TLDs I use GoDaddy — you'll be hard-pushed to beat all the features they offer and all the facilities for transfers (again free), early renewals, multiple-year registrations etc. I just had one of my .coms come up for automatic renewal this morning and it was paid through PayPal, costing $8.69 which equated to £4.47 at their conversion rate. That's gotta be better than paying a UK-based registrar! http://www.godaddy.com

Check the pricing structure and offering with few reliable registrar such as godaddy, enom, moniker and namechips etc.

Try out Enom. They are good registrars and also their prices are cheap that you are looking for.

I've been happy with UKREG for a few years now - and, I don't know why, but changing the nameservers there seems to propagate faster than with 1&1. I don't like 1&1 really.
The UKreg control panel is very straight forward and their prices are cheap for uk domains. They are reasonable for .coms too but if you shop around some of the US based registrars you might save a pound or so for .coms

I've used 1&1 and found everything pretty restrictive and some of the ways to get into things a bit annoying. I now tend to use 123-reg or UKreg depending on what I'm doing.

I'm using GoDaddy and have no complaints! Not had any problems with them and many people have recommended them to me .

Not sure how long they let you renew a domain for but they let you auto renew so you dont really have to worry about it!

I use NameCheap and I have had no problems whatsoever. I can't comment on their support services because I have never had to contact them. .COM and .CO.UK domains are charged at $8.88 per year I believe.

I use UKReg for most of my website hostings, though use GoDaddy for it's 'domains by proxy' facility when it's registered in my own name (and isn't a UK domain which has opt out).
