Default Sql 2000

Hi

I am thinking of ordering your Gold product to host asp.net 2.0 application. Just a couple of questions.

Firstly, can I use sql2000 and if so how what is the best method for creating a database. What would the connection string look like in my config file and what other configuration settings would the config file require?

Also, can I acquire backups of my databases from you?

At some stage I intend to upgrade my database to SQL Server 2005 enterprise, would this possible?

many thanks

Yes, you will get ASP.NET 2.0 support with all of our plans.

Regarding to SQL Server 2000, you can create SQL Server 2000 databases from Plesk itself. With Plesk you can create additional databases, manage database users, reset their password etc. easily.
Once you create the database you can use its credentials in the database connection string.

You can contact us at any time for the backup of your database, we can provide you the backup in .BAK format or .mdf .ldf database files as well.

In case of database upgrade, we will have to migrate your account on another server having SQL Server 2005 support.

Default New Account

Hi Guys

Finally got round to acquiring Gold Account

Just a few simple questions

I have a asp.net2 site to upload, what folder should I place my web site in?

My site has a default.aspx page. Can I still use this?

One of my folders contains a backup of a sql2000 database. Can I let you know where it is so it can be restored?

Finally, any other useful things I should know?

Regards

jamie

Hello jamie,

httpdocs is the web root / default folder of any web site on our Windows servers. Hence you have to upload your web pages into this folder. Your Default.aspx page should work once you upload it on server and enable ASP.Net 2.0 for it from Plesk.

Regarding to MSSQL database you need to create the database from Plesk with corresponding login details so that we can restore its backup on server but for that we need to know your domain name, hence I would suggest you to email us at windows@eukhost.com with domain name and the database name so that we can look into the issue further.

Very true, MSSQL 2008 is out in the market, but it's yet to come in the hosting businesses It'd take sometime for people to start using it for their websites..
