UK blog Hosting
If I start blogging, should I go with hosting seperately from very beginning or stick with free blogging platform or should I go later for hosting? Please advice, money is not an issue!

Really its up to you. lol...does that help :P
Hosting your own blog can give you a wider choice of templates and options on modifying your blog.
A hosted blog would be quicker to setup. If money is not an issue i would suggest hosting your own. Another factor depends on the blog content. if it becomes popular i would rather go to a URL domain.com rather than, myblog.blogprovider.com.
but i recently found that Wordpress have an option to register domains or something that loads your blog to the domain....i didn't really look into it, there is something on WP control panel,
Hope that helps

As Hallief3 said, it really is up to you if money is not the issue.
Personally though, if money is not an issue, I would pick to host your own as you have much greater control over it, it will probably be more reliable, there will be no ads on it, you will be able register your own domain and if your blog gets popular you can expand it out into a website hosting or include a guestbook or forum as well.
Hope that helps you make your choice! I believe that hosting your own has far more benefits than getting it hosted for free .

Your website hosting and your domain will be your asset. If you keep on improving your website hosting and give few mins to it everyday then you can see huge success to your website hosting in future.
You will have an advantage over other website hostings which will be new after couple of years. Traffic, age of domain, regular updates are most important constituents of a website hosting so don't waste your energy and resources in developing a website hosting on some other free blog providers as they get benefit out of your work.

Some very good points. I can't really add much more except that, if this is your first attempt at blogging, it may be wise to simply try a free provider and see if it is for you. If you do not enjoy it or do not wish to continue, you will not have lost money, only time.
Of course, if you find that you wish to expand, you can move to a paid hosting account and setup your own blog on there, allowing for much more control over the website hosting.

hairy,
Thanks, but blog get indexed very fast so if I go for experimenting it will take my time and efforts and once I get good Page Ranking it would be hard for me to leave that free blog hosting platform. eukhost has added good point there that your "website and your domain will be your asset" so it seems logical to me to brand my own domain name instead of branding others domain name.

Host your own blog, there are no restrictions or requirements and you do not have to include any advertising or links. Building your own blog is like building your own web website hosting, starting from scratch except that with these blogging tools, you have a bit of help in the process.
You can customize your layout and links, control comments, censor particular words or phrases, and even configure search output.

Apologies paul. Once again, I did not see eukhost.com's post when I began typing, although that may have been because I was viewing another topic when I opened this.
You raise some very good points. If the small sum of money is not a problem then, as suggested, go for paid hosting for your blog. Not only will it give you much more freedom and control over it, but also, as you say, help with indexing and page ranking.

Thanks you all for such good advice, I have decided to use wordpress.org and definitely the host will be eukhost.com since I have been associated with this forum long back and find they are one who can provide me the best service. I will update you soon about my blog.
Regards,
Paul

On the subject of Wordpress, I found this website hosting and bought a template from them - http://www.perfectory.com/templates_wordpress.htm
The templates they have look good and are all valid css etc. You can pay by paypal and add it to your list of themes in the normal way. It's about $50 per theme, it's just over £20 and not bad if you haven't got much time or the ability to get together a professional design.
I have started to do something with one of the templates they gave me, the results can be seen here - http://www.trailwalker07.co.uk/ ...

If you'll be installing your own wordpress with eukhost, I'd wait until they have sorted these painfully frequent MySQL problems. Or, like me, you'll find yourself without a blog or web content for considerable periods.

none of our existing shared cpanel or cpanel reseller hosting server has got any problem with MySQL service. cpanel servers have inbuilt monitoring system which sends email on our helpdesk if the monitoring system fails to restart failed services and so far we have no such tickets on our helpdesk.
