Default Viewing a domain on EUKHost before I've switched the DNS

Afternoon everyone.

I'm in the process of transferring a web site hosting to EUKHost. I've added on the domain name to my existing hosting account and I'm setting about uploading some software to run everything.

My question is this: is it possible to view this new add-on domain via an IP address or something as I'd like to make sure that it all looks fine before I switch the DNS settings on the domain to point to the new host?

Thanks very much

Which control panel are you using? Plesk or cPanel? Plesk has a web site hosting preview feature built in, but I'm not sure about cPanel.

If your on Linux (cPanel) then you can access your web site hosting using the following:

IPADDRESS/~username/addondomainfolder

Hope that helps .

I am trying to do a similar thing with a wordpress blog and want to set-up, view etc before I pull the DNS switch.

Problem is that I cannot access the WP control panel using the temp URI, so cannot set the thing up.

An ideas??

OK, I have sorted this out & for the benefit of others who might want to do this the steps are:

//tempuri/login.php

This gets you to a low res version of the WP control panel.

Change the two URLs to your //tempuri and save.

You now have lift-off & you will see the hi-res version of WP. I guess when you have set WP up and you want to it go live reset the URL's in the control panel to your domain.

If any forum mods want to move this post to somewhere more on topic, please feel free to do so.
