I'm currently not very happy with my web host provider and I'm looking for a better solution. eUKhost is looking like a promising alternative.
I believe the copper service will at least initially meet my needs, but if I need extra resources will upgrading be easy? I don't want my
website hosting to immediately shutdown if it goes slightly over the 200M limit for example. Also, does the control panel sw report on current resource usage? (Linux host)
I've not transferred a
website hosting before and I want to make the transition seemless. I have purchased a .me.uk domain name for 2 years with the above host (it's currently parked I believe), but their system means that they have to set the DNS servers on my request. If I transfer to eUKhost, do I need to just contact them to get them to set the new DNS details to point to eUKhost webspace?
Can I access the MySQL DB server directly using a MySQL client? I have quite a large DB to import and I have previously had problems importing large DBs with phpMyAdmin.
Are there any restrictions on ftp usage?
Does the Apache server support mod_rewrite?
