WebSite Monitoring
Hi,
Could anyone recommend a good (free if possible) tool, which monitors your website hosting to see if it is up? I am trying to see where my host offers the 99.99% uptime that they "Guarantee".
Cheers

You have to register your own company, then you list all your servers or something. It makes an interesting read... They have better uptime than some of the bigger companies as well!

I'm only a forum gremlin (moderator), and do not work for eUKhost in any way. Opinions expressed by me are mine only, and do not reflect those of either eUKhost or any company that may be listed above.
I don't bite, honest.

I've used FreeWebMonitoring for quite a while now and it's been fine — it reported last night's outage and its restoration too. You'll need to create an account using an email address off the server (of course) — I use the same Gmail account that receives all communications from eUKhost etc.
Late Edit: sorry, I forgot to mention ServiceUptime — you can monitor one domain for free and they provide you with stats of uptime.

Thanks all for your recommendations. I found one at http://www.montastic.com/ , checks website hosting every 10 mins, monitors up to 100 domains and is free
Anyone used this before? Just that it said that my website hosting web site hosting was down twice last night 00:04 - 02:45 then 03:17 to 04:52.
I was not around to test it (too much ale last night ) so cannot confirm, but will get onto support to see what they say.

Another one which is nice is http://host-tracker.com/. It allows you to put a button on your website hosting showing the uptime.

I've tried Montastic recently and have been relatively pleased with how its doing. Will check out the other ones that you have suggested though Rock and see how they compare .
