Default .CO Domains in Landrush Phase

Hello,

All the leading ICANN-accredited domain registrar, are offering the .CO domain name during the Landrush phase for priority registration until July 16th. The Landrush phase allows individuals and businesses to apply for premium domain names before the new top-level domain becomes available to the public. If more than one applicant registers for the same domain, the matching domains will go into auction.

During Landrush phase, you will be charged an Application Fee and a Registration Fee. If no one else wants the same domain name, it is yours. If there are multiple applications, however, it will go to CoAuctions.co and be placed in an Auction. If you don’t win the domain in auction, you will be refunded your Registration Fee.

Landrush is a rare opportunity to protect and extend your brand in the .CO domain before the rest of the world. The .CO domain will get open for the general public on the 20th of July on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interesting. Thanks for the information. Of course it is unreasonable to expect winning the auction against Amazon for amazon.co LOL. But I think there are still many great domains whose .com versions belong to domain owners with small budget.

I agree on this. I suggest those Domain Owner's to book their .CO version domain, which should be handy in spreading the business for long run.

Certainly, there is a possibility to register .CO domain with two or three letter's. Even Twitter has registered 't.co' domain for their services.

To add more to the above reply.....

.CO is considered to be the world’s next premier web address. TLD .CO is a unique opportunity offering registrants a new experience in the branding of their online presence. There is a strong sense of attractiveness in these two letters extension and .CO is also highly related to social networks. .CO works perfectly with words such as 'COmpany', 'COrporation', 'COmmerce', 'COtent', 'COnnect', 'Communicate', and 'COllaborate'.

The availability of the .CO suffix through eUKhost demonstrates our ongoing commitment to expand our domain offerings.
We have gained a success in making .CO suffix registration available to our resellers as well. I am sure they will certainly get the best price for it.

Regards,

.CO is the country-code Top Level Domain for Colombia. The Colombian government, in consultation for the local Internet community, .has made .CO domains available globally in a responsible and secure manner.

Moreover, .CO serves an entirely different purpose if treated as a gTLD instead of a ccTLD.

It's a phase wherein the organizations and individuals wishing to secure early access to high-priority, high-value for any new TLD domains. Due to high value, the base price set for the domains are too high and varies, depending upon the registrar.
