Hello,
Recently
we have had quite a few requests from customers regarding
.dk
domain names. There are no specific requirements for registering a
.dk
domain, but they do have an unusual nameserver requirement. First, we
will start with the basics.
What is a .dk domain?
The .dk extension is the official TLD for Denmark. Many companies
based in Denmark, as well as individuals, will favour the use of a .dk
extension.
How do you register a .dk domain?
There are no restrictions on who can register a .dk domain, as long as
you do it through an approved registrar.
How can I host a .dk domain?
A
.dk domain name can be hosted on any hosting account, no matter
which country the hosting is located in.
Are there any specific requirements after registration?
Not as such, no. However, if you wish to use your hosting providers
nameservers, they need to add their nameservers with DK Hostmaster.
Only European Residents or European Registered Companies can apply to
DK Hostmaster to have their nameservers added. Alternatively, you can
opt to use your domain registrars nameservers and then just point an A
record.
Who is DK Hostmaster?
DK Hostmaster is the administrator for all domain names ending
with
.dk. In order to sell
.dk domain names, you first need to be
approved by DK Hostmaster. They also hold all contact information on
registrars associated with them.
eUKhost is in the process of adding all of our nameservers with DK
Hostmaster. If you receive the error message "The following name
servers have not been registered with DK-Hostmaster" when trying to
point to our nameservers, please contact our Billing Department.
Adding new nameservers with DK Hostmaster can take up to 2 business
days.
Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this.
