Default Domain Name Transfer from 123Reg to EUKHost : How?

A friend of mine has today registered 4 domain names with 123Reg.

I already told him that if he wanted domain names and corresponding websites designed and published on his behalf, that it was much simpler for me to register them for him, here at EUK.

But he didnt listen ( muppet !!! ) so now I need to transfer them over to my hosting here at EUK.

He has given me his 123Reg login details and I had a look around to see if there was anything in there within his control panel to allow me to easily transfer them over, but I cant find anything. Their help section at 123reg doesnt really mention anything about transferring names from 123Reg, only about transfering to them.

I know I could just point his domains at my current DNS servers, but I would rather have all the domains in the one place here at EUK. Or am I stuffed and will have to just point the domains at my DNS?.

So I'm looking for advice on getting them transfered over from 123Reg to here at EUK if anyone can assist.

Once again, knowing the excellent tech support here, I'm sure i wont have to wait long for some assistance!!!.

Regards,

Gaz.

If the domains have a .uk tld then simple change the IPS tag to 'enom' (without the quotes) and then contact support quoting your domain names so that they can confirm them at their end. There is a charge of £9 for transfer of any tld as the domain is renewed for another 1-2 year(s) as many domains transferred are nearing their expiery date. As for the transferring of other tlds, I'll leave for someone else to answer.

You wont be able to transfer those domains for next 60 days as per policies of ICANN. You will need to keep those domains with 123-reg for next 2 months but for now you can point nameservers of those domains to the nameservers sent to you in welcome email.

If you have registered .co.uk domains with them then try to change the IPS tags from the 123-reg control panel. If it allows you to point those to "ENOM" then we wont charge you anything for the transfer of those domains. All you need to do is open a ticket with our billing department and mention those domains. Also mention that those domains were registered recently so you should not be charged for transfer of those domains.

I prefer to keep domain name reg and hosting separate, gives me much more control... I would keep them at 123-reg, they're pretty good!

Some people do prefer to keep them seperate - I have domains both with eUK and at other locations.

However some people prefer to have one log in and control everything from one place as it makes it easier for them - for example if theirs a problem and their website isnt working they don't have to work out whether it is a problem with the domain or the hosting space - they can just contact the support of the one place where everything is at.
