The number of sub-domains you have depends on which package you go with.

There is no limit on the amount of subdomains you can create as long as you have sufficient disk space available.

linux hosting, bronze package tnx for the reply.
my doubt was about the fact that i'm going to buy the domain from another company (i would have preferred not to do this but it's the only way to get .it domains) so i didn't know exactly if i could add subdomains to a domain taken elsewhere.

you can add any number of addon domains or parked domains from your cpanel control panel. All you need to do is setup nameservers of those domains to point to nameserver which we will send in welcome email and all those domains will work from our server hosting your account.

tnx @ all for fast replies

All plans have unlimited subdomains as far as I am aware - mine does. You web host controls the amount of subdomains you can have not your registrar.
Hope that helps  .

Due to the italian inefficiency i'm still waiting for the change of the nameservers... i did it almost a week ago but nothing is happening because i found that maybe there's a bug in the control panel where i bought the domain.
The article is here, it's in italian so i'll do a quick translation,
i would appreciate if someone can help me to understand what i've to do:
Quote:
Aruba cpanel has got a bug. While updating nameservers from default ones with yours, the suffix aruba.it is added to the request:
example:
IP 62.149.128.6.10522 > 88.57.16.26.53: 1+ PTR? 26.16.57.88.in-addr.arpa. (42)
IP 88.57.16.26.53 > 62.149.128.6.10522: 1- 1/2/2 PTR[|domain]
IP 62.149.128.6.10523 > 88.57.16.26.53: 2+ NS? rigacci.org.aruba.it. (38 )
So it's impossible to properly uptade the default ns ( dns.technorail.com )
To avoid this problem you can add following lines to the file /etc/bind/named.conf.local
zone "rigacci.org.aruba.it" {
type master;
file "rigacci.org.aruba.it";
};
In this way the first request of change from aruba will fail and the second one will be correct
IP 62.149.128.6.10522 > 88.57.16.26.53: 1+ PTR? 26.16.57.88.in-addr.arpa. (42)
IP 88.57.16.26.53 > 62.149.128.6.10522: 1- 1/2/2 PTR[|domain]
IP 62.149.128.6.10523 > 88.57.16.26.53: 2+ NS? rigacci.org.aruba.it. (38 )
IP 88.57.16.26.53 > 62.149.128.6.10523: 2 ServFail- 0/0/0 (38 )
IP 62.149.128.6.10524 > 88.57.16.26.53: 3+ NS? rigacci.org. (29)
IP 88.57.16.26.53 > 62.149.128.6.10524: 3*- 2/0/2 NS ns.rigacci.org., (106)

Please make it convenient to open a support ticket to get this sorted. They will need to make some changes as per your request to make your private nameservers work.

After a long wait they manually changed the ns of 1 of two domains. They refused the change for the second one due to this error:

Was it because i had to create the addon domain from cpanel BEFORE the change of ns ?

It shouldnt matter whether you create the add on domain in cPanel before or after the change (as far as I know).
Have you tried contacting support again with an update of the problem either through support@eukhost.com or through LiveChat from the main eUKhost website ( www.eukhost.com)?

i'vent yet, because i'm almost sure that it's a problem of the italian company, i'll contact them back right now, but unfortunately i'll have a reply in maybe only 2-3 days...
i'm asking on this forum even if maybe it's not a stricly eukhost related problem because you are the only ones i know for sure that can help me to understand what it's happening even now i dont know what to ask exactly to their support...apart retrying the change. I'm a mostly a graphic-designer and i dont know much about technical problems

I understand what you are saying. However if it is a problem with this Italian company there may be only so much that can be done from this end unfortunately .
Good Luck with it and hopefully the Italian company will start responding faster and get things fixed properly!

as per my knowledge, .it domains needs SOA records before they successfully delegate DNS records. You need to add your domains as addon domains and then point the nameservers to respective server from your domain management control panel with the .it domain registrar holding your domains.

Didn't realise different domains like that had loads of different rules and records.
Boy am I glad I stuck to .com and .co.uk!
