Domain Registration and a Hosting plan

Hi this is Richard! Sorry if this is a wrong place to post.

Just a quick question, if anyone can help me...

Wondering if I register a domain name and a hosting package with EUK. Later if I have to migrate my websites to any other hosting provider then can I just keep my domain name registered with EUK and change the hosting platform?

Hi Richard,

You can register new domain names with us along with a hosting package of your choice. Even if you migrate your websites to any other hosting provider in future, you can keep the domain name registered with us.

What do you think can be the best suitable plan for me? My site is under construction and will be using JBoss Application.

Dedicated Server is highly recommended for JBoss applications. We do not recommend JBoss on our Virtual Servers or any other hosting plan as it requires and consumes a lot of resources.

JBoss is an open source Java based application server, with embedded Apache Tomcat 5.5. JBoss can be run on both Linux and Windows platform so you have the option to opt for one of our Linux or Windows Dedicated server. My recommendation would be Linux because it will save the License cost.

Yes I was thinking of Linux only as both Linux and JBoss are open source. Btw does the change of OS make a huge difference?

Not only CentOS, there are many other Linux flavours which are compatible with JBoss. It can be run on Windows machine as well.

I dont think so...... since JBoss is compatible with most Linux flavours you should not face any issue using it with any flavour.

JBoss can run on numerous operating systems including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows and others, as long as a suitable JVM is present.
