Default Domain renewal

I got a domain renewal notification from Go Daddy, informing that one of my domain is set to automatically renew on the expiration date. How to change the setting to the manual renew mode?

Hello,

Sure. you can disable auto renew option any time

Go to My Products section << Domain Manager << Renew menu << clear the Automatically renew domains checkbox << click on OK.

Once you set it to manual renew option, you have to manually renew domains through the Domain Manager.

Thanks so much Alice for the guide. I did it accordingly and I was done. About the domain I mentioned, I will just leave it expired as I don't want to use it anymore. It's a .info domain.

Well, I think instead of letting it expire you should park it for free or donate someone.

LOL I would love to give it away to someone if anybody want, but I don't think they do. It is an .info domain whose .com and .net versions are taken already.

Park it and donate or park it and sell it off. You could set the bids for a time span to see how popular it might end up being and make a few bucks from it. No harm no foul right?

Sounds like something you should just donate. I wonder if you can get a tax write-off for this type of donation? Maybe give it to a charitable organization that could put it to good use?

How is donation handled in this situation? Will you just contact the registrar and tell them that you are transferring the ownership to another person or company?

I think it is better to park and sell it rather than waiting for it to expire. It will surely cost something even if the domain extension is .info.

Whenever you are changing any domain information or any kind of changes to be done top the domain information or updating need the verification and authentication of the domain owner. Then only the changes are going to be done and will be reflected.

Ken.
