Default Domain Selling Places and Methods

Can you give me a tip on where I can sell domains or even entire sites? Also, what is the most secure method of money transfer I can use to ensure nobody scams me in the process?

Thanks.

If you wish to sell domains only, Sedo is one of the best options on the internet, whereas, if you are looking forward to sell entire sites, you can choose Sitesell.

When it comes to Money transfer, the most safest option is definitely Bank/Wire transfer, however, if you would like to choose an option besides this, you can choose Google checkout, Paypal, Moneybookers etc. which are considered to be the best payment gateways on the internet.

Wire transfer is good option but buyers won't prefer this mode because once you've transferred the fund to an account it is very difficult to get it back in case of fraud. IMO, you should use escrow services that protect both buyer and sellers from any such instance.

Thanks for the advice. I never used escrow before. Does it require some complicated sign up procedure? I've recently heard about Flippa website where you can buy/sell domains as well. Do you know anything about it?

If you've websites which is getting good traffic and generating some revenues you can definitely try out Flippa, it's SitePoing market place which is supported by Escrow service too.

Flippa is nice. I bought a few and I sold a few sites there. Although you might want to be careful about payment methods and use Escrow if you can.

Flippa is great but you will have to pay a fee to get your website listed there. I still consider Sedo is the best option. About payment, there is little chance you will get scammed because you will be paid before transfering the domain ownership to the buyer, so I think any good options like credit cards, PayPal, Moneybookers, or Google Checkout will be fine.

I just did a quick visit to Flippa and it seems to be a great place to list the domains you are selling on. But the listing fee is quite a lot, $19. The other fee you have to pay is success fee which is 5% of your domain price.

I think they are charging to much to list the domains and due to this reason, Sedo seems to be a better option
