Forwarding a Domain Name to my eUK site.

Exactly what the title suggests...

I am new to websites, hosting, etc. so please forgive me if this is a simple question....

the domain dummysite.com is at a website called freeparking.co.uk ... I don't actually own the domain, so I can't tell you exactly what the admin screen says, but the person who does, wants to point it to the new website I've created and hosted on eUK...

He's done something called "web forwarding" and done that straight to the IP of the webserver. I'm on a shared IP. All we're getting is the standard IIS page cannot be displayed page.

Is there something special that needs to be done here? Is it something other than Web forwarding that needs to be done? or this something incredibly simple I'm overlooking???

I do remember something called A records and MX records an CNAME records for my Computer Science course, but can't remember what they do and whether they are relevant here....

Any help would be appreciated...

you need to ask him to point A records and CMANE records of your domain name to the IP address of the server. It seems that he is redirecting your domain name to the server IP which wont work. He needs to point your A records and CNAME records to IP of the server.
