Default .ie Domain Name

Hi,

I have a couple of question about Ireland domain registration (.ie).

Can I register a .ie domain though eUKhost?
If I register with another company, can I change the name servers to point to eUKhost?

Thanks Stuart

You cannot register it with eUK from what I can tell.
You have to register a business in Ireland and have license or VAT number (not sure which) to register a .ie. You can host it with eUK though.

Thanks Brian. I think we'll probably register our trademark as a domain, which seams to be fairly straight forward.

Category 3: Registered Trade Mark Name
Quote:
Any applicant with a Registered Trademark is eligible to apply under this category.

Requirements:
* Irish, UK, US and Community trademarks need only supply their Trademark Number in the application.

Can anybody recommend a good company to register the domain with?

They are usually more costly than normal TLD's.

IE Domain Registry <<< there's a comprehensive list of .ie domain registrars there - you might find a cheapish one amongst them.
