Moving Domain Name
Hello there,
I currently have a domain (animeheavens.co.uk) with zen-cart installed. Im planning on changing this domain name to something else but still retain the zen-cart so what is the best way to go about this? I have checked zen-cart forum and I know how to make the zen-cart folder point to the new domain.
I have already bought the new domain name so it is ready to be used. Also, I would like to link my old domain to the new one and what will happen to my SSL?

Hello,
If you need we will swap the old domain with new domain on server.
As you know how to move the zencart from old domain to new domain, then there would not be any problem.
But ssl is hostname based and its not possible to transfer ssl from one domain to another domain.
You need to issue the a new ssl for new domain.
Also, you can park old domain on new domain, so that it will point to new domain.

Thnaks for the reply. How long will the transfer take? What do I do with the SSL?
Also, I would like animeheavens.co.uk to still be live and have a redirect to my new domain. What is the best way to do this?

Domain swap won't take any time. You will need to submit a ticket from eUKhost Helpdesk :: Shared Reseller VPS Hosting Dedicated Server Hosting Support and your domains will be swapped within 30 - 60 minutes. You can use SSL of your old domain if you setup your old domain as an addon domain. SSL won't be of any use if you want to use it for the new domain.
Make sure you point your new domain to the nameservers which were sent in welcome email before you submit ticket.

Do you mean I cannot use the SSL from old domain for the new domain even if the old domain is setup as an addon?
But can I have the old domain link to the new domain? So that visitors of the old domain will be redirected to the new domain.

SSL Certificate installed on https://www.eukhost.com cannot be used on eUKhost Helpdesk :: Shared Reseller VPS Hosting Dedicated Server Hosting Support or any other domain. If you wish to setup SSL certificate on new domain then you will need to purchase new SSL Certificate from your existing SSL provider or eUKhost.
You can add your old domain name as an addon domain and setup redirect on it which will redirect your visitors on your new domain. This option will be available to you when you add your old domain as addon domain from cpanel control panel.

I see...thanks for the explanation. I will send the ticket tomorrow. And how can I purchase a new ssl for the new domain? I need this installed on the new domain.

Ok, I will purchase one but I need it installed. Do I have to request for the swap over before it can be installed? If possible, I would like to do this before the weekend so that I could do all testing by then...

You will need to get the domains swapped before you request SSL installation. We cannot install SSL certificate unless your new domain starts resolving.
